XReal, formerly known as NReal, has globally launched two versions of its next-generation AR glasses in the form of Air 2 and Air 2 Pro. In this article, we will be discussing the XReal Air 2 and Air 2 Pro in more detail, including their specs, features, availability, expected price in Nepal, and more.

XReal Air 2 and Air 2 Pro Overview:

Design and display

Design-wise, both the models of XReal’s new AR glasses look like, well, sunglasses. Their build is pretty similar to regular sunglasses except for a display underneath. The 0.55-inch micro-OLED panel from Sony is the main highlight of both the Air 2 and Air 2 Pro as XReal is the first adopter of this display technology. It is quite sharp with a 4,032 ppi (a 21% rise from its predecessor), while it apparently gives you a view equivalent to that of a 330-inch display.

Moreover, the XReal Air 2 series is available in grey and red color options. The company also provides 7 different sticker options for additional personalization. They have also managed to cut the weight of Air 2 to only 72gm (while Air 2 Pro weighs 75gm) by using materials like magnesium alloy. Furthermore, the company has shifted more of the device’s weight towards the temple. As a result, XReal’s new AR glasses have better weight distribution and achieve better balance.

Features and more

In terms of audio, these AR glasses support X-Spatial Sound 2.0, which offers better mid-low-frequency sounds and prevents sound leakage too. These glasses have also received TÜV Rheinland certifications for color accuracy, eye comfort, low blue light, and zero flicker. You can connect these glasses via the onboard USB Type-C port too.

These new AR glasses also have a companion handest called the “XReal Beam”, which was released earlier this year. You can use this handset as a remote control for the AR glasses. The beam comes pre-installed with two tablet versions of apps from Bilibili and iQiyi.

Other than this, almost all the aspects of the XReal Air 2 and Air 2 Pro are the same. The only difference is that the Air 2 Pro has three levels — 0%, 35%, and 100% — of electrochromic dimming. XReal calls it “Immersion Control” and with this, you can control how much of the outside world you can view. With 0% letting it all in while setting it to 100% blocks the view to the outer world completely.

XReal Air 2 and Air 2 Pro Price in Nepal and Availability

While these AR glasses were originally exclusive to China, they’re now available in the US too. With the Air 2 starting at USD 399 and the Pro model at USD 449. Although highly unlikely, we expect the XReal Air 2 and Air 2 Pro price in Nepal to start at NPR 63,699 and NPR 71,599, respectively if they launch here.
