After the Chinese government decided to ban iPhones and other foreign smartphones for its officials, ZTE has presented itself as an attractive substitute with its latest offering. The smartphone in question is the ZTE’s flagship Axon 60 Ultra! Let’s discuss more on this phone in this article.

ZTE Axon 60 Ultra Overview

Design and Display

ZTE has redesigned the Axon 60 Ultra coming from the Axon 50 Ultra. This time around the phone sports a large centre-aligned camera dial on the back. There is also a patterned strip going through the back of the phone. Other than that, the phone comes in IP68 packaging while the available images only show it in Black colour.

On the front, you get a 6.78-inch screen with minimal bezels. The panel on the ZTE Axon 60 Ultra is an OLED with 1.5K resolution. Additionally, it offers a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,160Hz PWM dimming.

Performance and Camera

Under the hood, the smartphone packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which is the chipmaker’s flagship processor from last year. Other processing hardware is reported to be an LPDDR5x RAM coupled with UFS 4.0 storage. However, the capacity of either one of them has not been revealed as of yet. Furthermore, the phone comes with a 6,000 mAh silicon carbon battery with 80W fast charging capability.

The optics department on the ZTE Axon 60 Ultra is led by a 50MP primary shooter with OIS capabilities. The auxiliary lenses on this phone include a 50MP ultrawide camera and an unspecified macro shooter. Meanwhile, on the front, it houses a single 32MP camera.

Connectivity and the rest

This phone comes with the ability to tap into two different satellites including China’s Tiantong satellite system. The ZTE Axon 60 Ultra allows you to make and receive calls as well as send texts straight through a satellite connection. However, it does not sleep on cellular connectivity either. The latest ZTE phone comes with eight built-in 5G antennas and supports a 5G-Advanced (5.5G) network. This network offers downlink and uplink speeds of up to 10Gbps and 1Gbps. The phone is also equipped with an adaptive multi-antenna switching algorithm to boost the network strength.

While the connectivity side of things is surely attractive, this phone’s main highlighting feature is its security side of things. It packs chips produced by independent domestic foundries. As a result, the ZTE Axon 60 Ultra has an added layer of security against foreign attacks making it ideal for Chinese government agents and delegates. Other than that, the phone comes with a dual-system architecture which allows the user to switch between two modes. One mode allows apps to run with unrestricted access while the other mode locks apps out of such access ensuring optimum security.

ZTE Axon 60 Ultra Price in Nepal and Availability

I have talked about the focus ZTE has put into the security features of the Axon 60 Ultra. This is for a reason, this phone is exclusive to China. Matter of fact, the ZTE Axon 60 Ultra can be purchased by individuals involved in the Chinese government and enterprise sectors. It is not available to the regular public. As such, the ZTE Axon 60 Ultra will not be available in Nepal and its price has not been revealed either.
