Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 announced with minimal performance upgrades

Almost exactly a year later, the successor to Qualcomm’s midrange Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip is here. The new Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 keeps the same 1+3+4 CPU architecture, but it does bring slight CPU and GPU performance upgrades on top of everything else.

Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 Overview

CPU and GPU

Manufactured under TSMC’s 4nm node, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 gets the same 1+3+4 core CPU setup as the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. But the prime Cortex-A720 core can now boost at up to 2.7 GHz — versus up to 2.5 GHz on its predecessor — which apparently results in 7% better CPU performance.

Other than this, the remaining 3x Cortex-A720 cores (2.4 GHz) and 4x Cortex-A520 cores (1.8 GHz) remain the same.

The graphics side of things has minimal upgrades, too, with Qualcomm claiming a measly 7% better performance. The upgraded Adreno GPU now supports ultra-wide WFHD+ displays (2900 x 1300p) with a 144Hz refresh rate though.

And as expected, the 7s Gen 4 brings Snapdragon Elite Gaming features like Adaptive Performance Engine 3.0 and upscaling tech like Snapdragon Game Super Resolution.

Camera and AI

Moving on, the 7s Gen 4 features an upgraded triple 12-bit ISP that can now handle 200MP image sensors. It is also able to capture 10-bit colors for both photos and videos. The videography side of things is still restricted to 4K / 30 fps on the 7s Gen 4, but you can expect slightly improved nighttime photography thanks to its “AI-De-noiser (AIDE)” feature.

Qualcomm’s latest midrange mobile chip is fully ready for generative AI as well. Its Hexagon NPU can run large language models (LLMs) like Llama 1B and Qwen 1B.

Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor features

Moreover, the 7s Gen 4 uses the Snapdragon X62 5G modem with up to 2.9 Gbps of downlink speeds. Whereas it has WiFi 6E and tri-band WiFi 5 support as well.

As for the memory, this Qualcomm processor can be paired with up to 16GB of either LPDDR5 (up to 3,200 MHz) or LPDDR4X (up to 2,133 MHz) RAM. Alongside UFS 3.1 storage. It’s also Quick Charge 4+ ready, and brings support for Qualcomm’s hi-res audio codecs like aptX Lossless and aptX Adaptive.

OPPO’s latest foldable phone — the Find N5 — is launching soon in Nepal

OPPO’s new foldable, the OPPO Find N5, made its debut in February of this year. And now, the company is preparing to bring this phone to Nepal as well. This article will include the device specifications and features, along with the expected price in Nepal of the OPPO Find N5.

Design and display

The Find N5 measures 8.93 mm thick when folded and weighs around 229 grams. That sounds impressive for a foldable, although it’s slightly thicker and heavier than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is just 8.9 mm thick while weighing just 215 grams.

In terms of build, the Find N5 features a sturdy aluminum alloy frame, while OPPO’s “Nanocrystal Glass” protects the cover display.

Adding to its durability, the phone carries an IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 water resistance rating. Meaning it can handle everything from water splashes to full-on immersions and even high-pressure water jets, but not dust particles.

When it comes to displays, you’re getting a couple of 120Hz LTPO OLED panels here. The one on the front measures 6.62 inches, while the OPPO Find N5 has a massive 8.12-inch main display. The brightness for the inner screen reaches up to 2,100 nits, while the cover display peaks at an even higher 2,450 nits.

Performance, battery, and cameras

Under the hood, the OPPO Find N5 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset for a flagship-level performance. But interestingly enough, compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite we’ve seen on other flagship devices, the one on the Find N5 has a 7-core CPU setup only. With one less “Phoenix M” core.

Out of the box, it runs on ColorOS 15.0 based on Android 15. As for the battery, it comes with a large 5,600mAh silicon-based battery, which is a lot bigger than the Z Fold 7’s 4,400mAh battery. And it supports 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Just a few days back, Xiaomi marked its 14th anniversary. The company’s president shared a video about some of Xiaomi’s most memorable smartphones, and while he did not reveal a lot, he suggested that the upcoming Xiaomi 16 series will come with some significant changes. And it will even include a Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini.

A newcomer, the “Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini”

With this new revelation, the Xiaomi 16 series will now consist of four models: Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 16 Pro, Xiaomi 16 Ultra, and at lastly, the new Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini. And as its name suggests, it might be a compact flagship phone with high-end specs that you would normally expect from the Pro model.

What can we expect?

From recent leaks, it was found that the mini model will house a 6.3-inch OLED panel. Tipster Digital Chat Station claimed that the device will have a new design, all thanks to the LIPO technology.

As for the camera, the main camera will apparently have a large image sensor, which will also be accompanied by a periscope lens. The tipster also mentioned the device will feature an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, “full waterproof” likely with an IP68/69 rating, and curved edges with a “R angle” design.

More importantly, this device will be powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip. Just like the other entries in the Xiaomi 16 lineup. And for such a compact phone, it will host a pretty large 6,300 mAh battery that supports wireless charging.

To compare, that is slightly larger than the 5,850 mAh battery on the OnePlus 13s (review), but smaller than the 6,500 mAh unit on the Vivo X200 FE (review).

When is Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini launching?

Alongside the rest of the Xiaomi 16 series, the Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini is expected to launch in October in China. Although the “Ultra” model will most likely only arrive in early 2026.

That’s a $400 pair of premium noise-cancelling headphones, so putting those drivers in a gaming headset is pretty bold. You’re getting active noise cancelling, 360 Spatial Sound, and three EQ profiles specifically tuned for FPS games. It is also co-developed with FNATIC esports team.

Connectivity 

All things considered, the connectivity options are pretty solid. You’re getting low-latency wireless via USB-C dongle, LE Audio, and Bluetooth Classic that can handle simultaneous connections. So you can game on PC or PS5 while staying connected to your phone for calls or music.

Battery life is around 30 hours, which isn’t mind-blowing compared to some competitors, but it’s decent enough. The problem, I think, is that Sony’s prioritizing audio quality over marathon battery life, which is probably the right call for most people.

Whats the news in the market?.

So far the reviews have been positive, with Gizmodo noting that “the audio quality is impeccable” and praising how “the low bass hits of rockets and crackle of automatic gunfire are immediately distinct from game to game.” Tom’s Guide highlighted that “the Inzone H9 II is lighter and slimmer, which should make it even more comfortable to wear during extended gaming sessions.”

But makes no sense to ignore the limitations. The EQ options are still pretty basic compared to what some competitors offer, and there’s no full transparency mode. It’s clearly built for FPS gaming first, with other genres being secondary considerations.

With Samsung preparing to launch its XR headset dubbed “Project Moohan” later this year, rumors surrounding Samsung’s first smart glasses have started to appear as well. Earlier on, leaks suggested that Samsung is working on two pairs of AI glasses named “Project Haean” and “Project Jinju”.

These smart glasses, which will be competing with the ones from Apple and Meta, are expected to arrive next year.

What will Samsung smart glasses offer?

Samsung’s debut into smart glasses will focus on simplicity and usability. Along with that, this pair of smart glasses is rumored to be similar in design to the Ray-Ban Meta glasses. Like the Meta glasses, it will come with a built-in microphone, speakers, and a camera. There will also be no built-in display as seen in the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses.

Software and AI features

And like Samsung’s XR headset, this smart glass will run on the Android XR platform as well. But unlike the smart glass that Google demoed in its I/O keynote back in May this year, the one from Samsung will seemingly be limited in functionality since this is a display-less model.

That said, these smart glasses will of course come with an AI assistant, which will allow the user to make calls, send texts, capture content, and control media playback.

Other AI features could be similar to those of Project Moohan. And if that’s the case, then we might be in for some luck, as early reviews stated that the AI experience in it was one of a kind. Remember when everyone thought the Nintendo DS was weird with its dual screens? Well, that “weird” design is making a comeback in the Android handheld space. AYN just teased the Thor, a clamshell dual-screen Android gaming device, and honestly, it’s looking like they’re trying to capture some of that DS magic but with modern Android gaming power. This article will discuss everything about the rumored AYN Thor, including leaked specifications and expected pricing.

Apparently, AYN’s going full clamshell with the Thor. The teaser shows a design that’s pretty similar to the Retroid Pocket Flip 2, which isn’t exactly surprising since that form factor just works. You’re getting dual screens, though the top screen appears smaller than what AYANEO did with their Pocket DS and its 7-inch main display.

The control layout looks familiar – inset sticks in that Xbox-style arrangement we’ve all gotten used to. Stacked triggers like the Flip 2, and they’ve placed the Home and Back buttons right beside the speakers. It’s rather funny that they went with the Thor name when they already have the Odin series going. Norse mythology theme, I guess?

Hardware

One thing that caught our attention was how little AYN actually revealed. The teaser is under 40 seconds, and they’re basically saying “trust us, it’ll be good.” We know it’s running Android and packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, but whether that’s the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 or G3x Gen 2 is anyone’s guess.

Well, basically everything else is up in the air – RAM, storage, battery life, screen resolutions. More often than not, companies tease stuff when they’re still figuring out the final specs, so this might just be AYN testing the waters.

Does this make sense?

From where we’re seeing the market, dual-screen Android handhelds are having a moment. AYANEO dropped the Pocket DS at around $400, and suddenly everyone’s realizing that maybe dual screens aren’t just a gimmick. The problem, I think, is that most Windows clamshell handhelds cost way more, so there’s definitely room for affordable Android alternatives.

All things considered, AYN’s timing isn’t bad. They’ve built a decent reputation with the Odin series, and the handheld gaming market is absolutely exploding right now. Plus, Android emulation has gotten ridiculously good – you can run everything from PSP to some PS2 games pretty smoothly.

Competition and Positioning

But makes no sense to ignore what else is out there. The Retroid Pocket Flip 2 already exists with a similar design, and AYANEO’s Pocket DS is setting the bar for what dual-screen Android gaming can be. AYN needs to either undercut on price or offer something unique to stand out.

They’re also teasing the Odin 3 alongside this, which suggests they’re going for a big product push at the end of 2025. Whatever they’re planning, it better be good because the handheld space is getting crowded fast.

You know what’s weird about tablet launches these days? Everyone’s going premium with $1000+ slabs, but sometimes you just need something that works without selling a kidney. Word on the street is Samsung’s cooking up a Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, and it’s basically their way of saying “hey, not everyone needs a flagship tablet.” This article will discuss everything about the rumored Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, including leaked specifications and expected pricing.

Okay, so from what we’re hearing, Samsung’s going with a 10.9-inch LCD this time. Yeah, not AMOLED like the fancy Tab S11 series they’re rumored to launch alongside this. But here’s the thing – at the leaked €399 price, you’re not exactly expecting miracles. The 2112 × 1320 px resolution sounds decent enough for most stuff, and rumors suggest it’ll support the S Pen right out of the box.

The leaked design follows the same language as other Tab S10 models. You’re supposedly getting those dark antenna lines, single rear camera setup, and a dedicated slot for the S Pen on the back. Colors are rumored to be Gray, Silver, and Pink.

Performance 

One thing that caught my attention was Samsung sticking with their own Exynos 1380 chipset. Well, basically this is the same chip they used in some Galaxy A-series phones. It’s not going to set any benchmarks on fire, but for web browsing, media consumption, and light productivity, it should do just fine.

You’re getting either 6GB or 8GB of RAM with 128GB or 256GB storage options. The 8,000 mAh battery is actually pretty generous for this price range. All things considered, it’s rather funny that they went with 25W charging when some rumors suggest it might support 45W. We don’t know if that’s just Samsung being conservative with their specs or what.

Why does this even exist?

From where we’re getting leaks, Samsung’s supposedly launching this alongside the Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra in September. But makes no sense to compare them directly – the Tab S11 is rumored to start at €899 with AMOLED, Dimensity 9400, and 12GB RAM. That’s literally double the expected price.

More often than not, people just want a tablet that can handle Netflix, some light gaming, and maybe note-taking with the S Pen. The Tab S10 Lite seems to fill that gap pretty nicely. The problem, I think, is not everyone needs flagship specs for basic tablet stuff.

Connectivity and Protection

Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and optional 5G is what you are getting in this tab. IP42 protection means it can handle some dust and light water drops. The energy efficiency rating is F, which isn’t great, but that massive 8,000 mAh battery should still get you through the day.

Okay, so ASUS basically said “hold my drink” to the entire monitor industry. You’re getting a 26.5-inch OLED panel that hits 540Hz natively. And here’s where it gets nuts – it can push 720Hz at 1080p.

The thing is, we’ve seen Koorui and HKC announce 750Hz monitors recently. But here’s the catch – they’re using TN panels. Yeah, those old-school panels that look washed out and have viewing angles worse than your ancient laptop screen. More often than not, they just don’t cut it for serious gaming where colors actually matter.

Why this OLED thing matters?

One thing that caught my attention was the fact that ASUS went with tandem OLED technology. Well, basically this means you’re getting enhanced HDR brightness and improved lifespan. So what about the burn-in issue that scared everyone away from OLED gaming monitors? Well, they’ve got a Neo Proximity Sensor that detects when you’re not there and turns off the screen. Plus, three-year warranty against burn-in.

But makes no sense to compare this directly with Samsung’s Odyssey OLED G6 at $999 with 500Hz. Sure, that’s cheaper, but we’re talking about a 40Hz jump here. And the Samsung uses regular OLED, not this tandem tech that ASUS is pushing.

Design and Connectivity

The design screams “I’m expensive” with that silver and translucent plastic skeletal look. Three-blade stand that probably weighs more than some laptops. All things considered, it’s rather funny that they went full transparent aesthetic when most people will be staring at the screen anyway.

DisplayPort 2.1a with 80Gbps bandwidth on the flagship model. Yeah, I think it makes sense to future-proof this hard when you’re already spending this much. The lower-tier ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG gets HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 1.4 DSC with “only” 280Hz. Only 280Hz – what a world we live in.
