MacBook Pro 14 (2023) with new M3 chips is officially here!

The “Scary Fast” Event from Apple unraveled a new M3 lineup of chips, an upgraded iMac, and the most anticipated 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro. Designed for creators and students, the Macbook Pros with new M3 chips are finally here. In this article, we’ll discuss the specs, features, and price of the Apple Macbook Pro 14 M3 in Nepal.

Macbook Pro 14 (M3) Overview:

All new M3 Gang

The key highlight of the new Macbook Pro is the new M3 lineup of chips. Comprising of three silicons— M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max, Apple has gone with energy-efficient 3-nanometer tech. This 14-inch guy comes with all three chipsets under the hood.

The vanilla M3 chip is an 8-core CPU with a 10-core GPU. Likewise, the M3 Pro is available in two variants: 11-core CPU + 14-core GPU, and 12-core CPU + 18-core GPU. Memory configurations start from 8GB of unified memory and 512GB of SSD for the base M3, while the M3 Pro comes with a much more respectable 18GB of unified memory.

The top-of-the-line M3 Max gains more horsepower with a 14-core CPU, 30-core GPU, 36GB of unified memory, and 1TB of SSD storage. Meanwhile, the RAM is upgradeable up to 24GB, 36GB, and 128GB for the M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max respectively. The storage on the other hand is configurable up to 8TB for all three variants. But only a select few configurations are available in Nepal where memory caps out at 36GB and storage at 1TB.

Upgraded Graphics

Besides the CPU performance, the GPU part gets a major buff such as hardware-accelerated ray tracing and mesh shading, first time ever on Apple silicon. A sigh of relief for some gaming finally! Moreover, the Dynamic Caching on the new M3 chips enables the efficient allocation of RAM required for the GPU.

Design and Display

On the design side of things, Apple has not altered a lot of things except for the notch on the display. Talking of which is Apple’s Liquid Retina XDR 14.2-inch panel with HDR support. It can go up to 1600nits at peak while the HDR and SDR brightness count going up to 1000nits and 600nits respectively.

Battery and Rest of the specs

Juicing up the M3 variant of the 14-inch Macbook Pro is a 70 Wh Li-Po cell with 96W fast charging support. The M3 Pro/Max variant for the 14-inch model carries a 72.4 Wh battery with the same 96W fast charging support.

As for the connectivity, it supports WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, Thunderbolt 4.4 ports, MagSafe 3, HDMI port, and SDXC card slot. Other features include a Magic keyboard, 1080p Facetime webcam, and Siri. For biometrics security, you get a Touch ID.
