And just so you know, the company launched its Intel model a while ago already. Design and display

So, starting with the design, the Strix G16 aligns with the typical ROG design flow: it has an RGB light strip at the bottom of the laptop, alongside striking "ROG" branding. In terms of weight, this 16-inch laptop weighs 2.5 kg, which is decent for a 16-inch gaming laptop, but I am quite disappointed that Asus hasn't included a Numpad here. Instead, they went for its touchpad, which can double as a numpad, as shown in the image below. 

And here's my favorite part of this laptop, i.e., the display. I know the Strix G16 AMD (2025) doesn't have an OLED panel, but its 16-inch "ROG Nebula Display" is gorgeous. It has all the flagship-level features, including 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, a smooth 240Hz refresh rate, a fast 3ms response time, and Dolby Vision HDR support. So if you want to do fast-paced gaming or even color correction work, such as video editing or color grading, you can't go wrong with its display.

Performance and memory

In terms of performance, the ROG Strix G16 features top-of-the-line AMD 9000 Series processors, including AMD's Ryzen 9 8940HX and Ryzen 9 9955HX. Both CPUs are excellent for running demanding applications without any lag whatsoever. Also, compared to Intel “HX” series chips, AMD CPUs offer greater power efficiency, cooler temperatures under high load, and strong multi-core performance. And since this is an "HX" class processor, you can also overclock both CPUs, allowing you to freely adjust the multiplier to increase performance. 

For the GPU, the all-new Strix G16 comes with NVIDIA's latest RTX 5060 GPU, which has 8GB of GDDR7 memory and up to 115W of TGP. That said, 8GB of VRAM can be limiting for some users in the long run, especially if you love playing newer games.  For memory, it includes 16GB of DDR5 RAM running at 5600 MHz and a 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. And yes, both are upgradable.
