Asus TUF A16 (2026) launches in Nepal with AMD Ryzen 7 170 and RTX 4050

Asus TUF A16 (2026) is a “new” gaming laptop in Nepal from Asus that arrives with a mid-range AMD Ryzen 7 170 CPU and an NVIDIA RTX 4050 GPU. With this combination, you can expect a decent gaming experience, but you might find its price quite high compared to other gaming laptops with similar specs. So, in this article,  I will cover the Asus TUF A16 price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

Asus TUF A16 (2026) Overview

Design and Display

In terms of design, the Asus TUF A16 (2026) features a metal lid, while the body is made of high-quality plastics, which we mostly see in entry-level gaming laptops. Asus has moved away from the flashy design we used to see on its older gaming laptops, opting for a subtler “Meca Gray” design here. Though it weighs 2.2 kg, it is lighter than modern 16-inch gaming laptops. So you can easily pack in a backpack and carry to school and work without much strain on your shoulders. 

Moving on, it is a 16-inch laptop with an IPS LCD panel and an anti-glare finish for better clarity and clearer visibility, even when you have a bunch of light sources around you. Here, the 165Hz refresh rate is the sweet spot for this laptop to offer smooth gameplay, while the FHD+ resolution is not sharp enough for the 16" screen size. In addition, you get decent indoor visibility on this laptop with 300-nit peak brightness, but that is obviously not sufficient in outdoor settings.

Performance and Memory

Under the hood, the Asus TUF A16 (2026) uses an “updated” AMD Ryzen 7 170 processor under the Ryzen 100 series (codename: “Rembrandt-R'). But unfortunately, this CPU is just a refreshed version of Ryzen 7 7735HS from 2023, which was already a rebranded Ryzen 7 6800HS from 2022. The Ryzen 7 170 has 8 ”Zen 3+" cores and 16 threads, with a maximum boost of up to 4.75 GHz, which should work well for a range of tasks, such as gaming and multitasking. 

For the GPU, this laptop opts for the NVIDIA RTX 4050, which should handle 1080p gaming at medium graphics settings in most games. Especially since it only has 6GB GDDR6 VRAM and up to 90W TGP. In terms of memory, the Asus TUF A16 (2026) comes with 16GB of DDR5 RAM running at 4800 MT/s and 512GB of PCIe Gen 4 storage. There's also NVIDIA's G-SYNC in this laptop, so that screen tearing and stuttering don't become an issue in your gaming sessions.

Battery and Others

The TUF A16 (2026) kinda disappoints in terms of battery life as well, since Asus has shipped a tiny 56 Wh battery inside this big 16-inch laptop. So you can expect a couple of hours of screen time under casual usage, and that's it. In terms of charging, the TUF A16 fills up via a 240W adapter. Likewise, it has a single-zone RGB-backlit keyboard along with a regular plastic-made trackpad. Getting to ports, this laptop comes with a single USB 3.2 Gen 2 (Type-C), one HDMI 2.1, an RJ45 Ethernet port, and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports.

Okay, so since the TUF A16 (2026) has a pretty unreasonable price for its basic CPU and GPU combo compared to its competitors, it is quite difficult to recommend. Since other laptops, such as the Acer Nitro V 16S AI (2025) with a much more powerful Intel Core 7 240H CPU and an RTX 5060 GPU is available at an even cheaper price tag in Nepal right now.
