boAt has just announced the Airdopes 161 ANC earbuds alongside the Airdopes Flex 454 ANC. The former is more expensive than the vanilla Airdopes 161 Pro but also packs in a lot more features. Design

Looks-wise, the new Airdopes 161 ANC doesn’t look too different from its “Pro” sibling. Both of them have an in-ear design with silicon tips for a tight seal. The oval speaker unit is complemented by a cylindrical stem with dual mics on each bud. The case itself is oval-shaped this time around and offers a larger battery (300mAh vs 500mAh).

These earbuds are IPX5-rated against sweat and water splashes. boAt Airdopes 161 ANC is available in three colors: Black, White, and Green.

Sound

The boAt Airdopes 161 ANC buds, as the name suggests, come with Active Noise Cancellation. According to boAt, they have an industry-leading 32dB ANC. Besides that, they feature 10mm drivers that can produce the standard 20Hz – 20KHz frequencies. With the previously mentioned mics, these earbuds will deliver crisp and clear call quality using ENx (Environmental Noise Cancellation). These buds connect to devices via Bluetooth 5.3.

To appeal to gamers, boAt has equipped these buds with ultra-low latency of 50ms for a rich and delay-free gaming experience. Moreover, the buds also come with Dual EQ options for tuning the sound to your preference. That includes the boAt signature sound EQ and the Balanced EQ which you can toggle between.

Battery and Extras

Moving onto the battery life, the boAt Airdopes 161 ANC do pretty well with up to 50 hours of playback with ANC off. If you do decide to use the ANC a lot and run out of juice, a quick 10-minute charge will be able to provide 150 minutes of playback. To charge it all the way, it’ll take about 1.5 hours.
