There are many configurations for Dell’s latest offering in Nepal. In a similar 14” form factor, you can get the Inspiron 14 5445 with an AMD processor, the 5440 with efficient Intel chips,  or perhaps the Inspiron 7440 with a 2-in-1 body. Design and Display

Starting things off with the looks, the new Inspiron laptops are a good middle ground between feeling premium and not being as expensive as say the XPS machines. They feature aluminum casing, and metallic build, and are only available in the ‘Ice Blue’ color option as of right now. The regular Inspiron 14s are relatively light at 1.5 kg but the 2-in-1 variant is a tad heavier at around 1700 grams.

Moving on to the display, the regular models (5440 and 5445) feature 14” Full HD+ screens running at 60Hz with up to 250 nits of brightness. On the other hand, the 7440 models have Touch displays with stylus input support. There are higher res 2.2k display options but those haven’t made their way to Nepal yet. 

Performance and Memory 

You can get the latest Dell Inspiron 14 (2024) with a range of processors. On the AMD side, there’s the Ryzen 8000 series Hawk Point offerings while you can get Intel Core Series 1 equipped ones as well. Although most of the variants lack discrete graphics, some ship with entry-level MX cards with 2GB of dedicated VRAM to aid in graphic-intensive workloads.

As for the memory, you are getting 16GB of DDR5 RAM alongside either a 512GB or a 1TB NVME Gen 4 SSD. You can replace the SSD with a higher capacity one (single M.2 slot) or slot in a new RAM stick (2 SO-DIMM slots) as per your needs. 

Ports and Battery

Talking of connectivity options, you get a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, two USB 3 Type-A ports, an HDMI, and a 3.5mm audio jack. On the 2-in-1 models, you also get an additional Type-C port with Power Delivery and Display Port support. There’s a modest 54 Wh Lithium cell on the Dell Inspiron 14 2024 which promises 9-10.5 hours of use. For charging, the Inspiron gets a 65W adapter but while the 7440 charges via the Type-C port, there’s a dedicated AC barrel on other models.
