A while ago, we were hearing buzz about the DJI Mini 5 Pro. Now, it looks like DJI is also working on the regular Mini 5. There are fresh rumors saying that the DJI Mini 5 will be launching soon, and it’s going to bring a few nice upgrades over the previous Pro model. Let’s go over everything we’ve heard about the DJI Mini 5 so far.
DJI Mini 5 Overview Rumor
The DJI Mini 5 is most likely going to be the successor of the Mini 4 Pro. But with a Mini 5 Pro also on the horizon, it’s unclear which model is the true successor. DJI really needs to clarify this for us.
Reports claim the anticipated Mini 5 was seen being tested out in public on the streets of China. Well-known leaker Jasper Ellens even posted a low-quality photo of the quadcopter online, and we believe it shows the Mini 5.
Design and everything else
From what we can tell in the leaked photo, the Mini 5 is going to look a lot like the Mini 4 Pro, so there won’t be any major design changes there. But this time, DJI might include a LiDAR sensor which Jasper Ellens already mentioned back in December. That’s a big deal because it’ll help the drone avoid obstacles better, especially in low-light situations. Not just that, the new motors are said to be stronger too which could improve flight stability. That’s something users have really been asking for.
Also, let’s not forget that the camera might get a big bump. Rumors say it could have a 1-inch sensor instead of the Mini 4 Pro’s 1/1.3-inch one. This could make a noticeable difference in image quality, especially in low light. Plus, some sources say it could fly for up to 50 minutes! That’s a serious improvement over Mini 4 Pro’s 34-minute flight time.
