HP Notebook 14 2024 Overview
Design and Display
In terms of design, the HP 14 2024 features a clean, minimalist design that comes in a Natural Silver chassis that feels both sturdy and well-built. In terms of weight, the device weighs just around 1.40 kg, which is quite light compared to other 14- or even 15.6-inch laptops.
Talking about the display, you get a compact 14-inch IPS LCD panel with Full HD resolution and an anti-glare coating. Unfortunately, it comes with an older 16:9 aspect ratio, a standard 60Hz refresh rate, and a 45% NTSC color gamut. The bezels are also a bit thicker compared to newer 16:10 displays. Overall, the display is fine for everyday use like browsing, watching videos, and working on documents, but I wouldn’t recommend it for color-accurate work.
Performance and Memory
Talking about the performance, the laptop is powered by Intel’s latest Core Ultra 5 125H processor based on the Meteor Lake architecture. It features 14 cores, 18 threads, and a boost clock speed of up to 4.5GHz. Overall, it’s a good option for students and office users who need a laptop for multitasking, everyday work, and light content creation.
For memory, the laptop comes with 8GB RAM and 512GB of storage.
Battery, Ports, and Others
Talking about battery, the HP 14 includes a 3-cell 41Wh battery, which offers around 6 to 8 hours of typical use depending on brightness and workload. It also includes HP Fast Charge, which supports the battery reaching 50% in approximately 45 minutes.
Likewise, for ports, you get 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A (5 Gbps), 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C (5 Gbps, DisplayPort 1.4, Power Delivery, HP Sleep and Charge), 1x HDMI 1.4b, and 1x 3.5mm port here.
