New Leaks: Insta360 Luna Ultra features 6x optical zoom and detachable gimbal to rival Osmo Pocket 4 Pro

Following the teaser release of the DJI Pocket 4 and Osmo Pocket 4 Pro, Insta360 also shared several leaks about the Insta360 Luna Ultra. Here, I will discuss the details of the rumors surrounding the Insta360 Luna Ultra, as well as possible launch and availability.

Insta360 Luna Ultra Rumors

Design and Build

Starting with the cropped photo of the Insta360 Luna Ultra shared by the serial leaker Igor Bogdanov on his X account, we can see that the focus is on the junction where the gimbal and camera body meet. In the same picture, he also writes the caption “does it separate?”, which clearly hints at a detachable, modular build. If the rumors are true, we might get the wearable mounting option we saw in the Insta360 GO series, giving us wide flexibility for vlogging in tight spaces.

Moreover, Insta360 released a heavily pixelated teaser showcasing the compact gimbal-mounted camera with two lenses side by side. We will provide more information after this device receives an official release. 

Camera and Battery

Moving on to the camera, from earlier leaks, we learned that it might only offer 3x optical zoom with a telephoto lens alongside a wide-angle lens. But now, the Insta360 Luna Ultra might pose tough competition to its rival, the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P, with its 6x optical zoom. The leaked picture also shows the dual-camera setup mentioned earlier. 

This device is rumored to come with a larger battery than previous pocket-style cameras, offering ease in extended use.

Performance and Control

In this device, we might see a significant shift towards physical control compared to what we saw in the Osmo Pockets series. It might also come with a joystick for navigation and a zoom rocker for precise control, along with additional buttons in a rotatable display. Also, you can expect a flip-out rotating touchscreen with live preview support. Along with this, it might also offer swipe gestures and manual zoom controls. The full details of this gimbal camera are still to be revealed, so we need to wait a little longer. 

Insta360 Luna Ultra Launch and Availability:

Inst360 has not yet disclosed the official launch date for this gimbal. But the leaks suggest that it might unveil the proper detail on April 18 2026. Since rumors suggest we can see the full details by tomorrow, we still need to wait for official confirmation.
