Insta360, popular for its action cameras and 360-degree cameras, has launched the Insta360 X4, its first 8K camera. And just a couple of days later, it has arrived in Nepal as well. So without any delay, let’s dive into discussing the specs, features, availability, and official price in Nepal of the Insta360 X4.
Insta360 X4 Overview
Design
The Insta360 X4 arrives with minimal visual alterations, notably featuring a microphone hole beneath the camera. However, the device is slightly taller yet thinner compared to its predecessor, weighing approximately 203 grams – 23 grams heavier than the X3. The dimensions are 123 x 46 x 26.3 mm, maintaining the same width as the previous model.
The display has gotten bigger and now measures 2.5 inches with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass protection. But the commendable change in the build has to be its removable lens guard, which can act as a shield while shooting in tougher weather and environments. The standard lens guard is bundled in the box while Insta360 sells the premium lens guard with an extra layer of protection, separately.
8K recording
The key USP of this 360 camera is none other than the ability to capture 8K res videos at 30fps. You get a 1/2″ 35mm sensor here with an f/1.9 aperture. This major bump in resolution contributes to high-quality footage, of course, to watch on a bigger display. Plus, users can also crop out from the 360-degree angle, with enough details retained.
If you need some fast-paced action, the X4 also lets you shoot at 5.7K at 60fps and 4K at 100fps too. On the contrary, the last-gen X3 could only do 5.7K videos at 30fps and 4K at 60fps. Moreover, the new X4 can shoot 72MP stills and 180-degree video in 4K and 2.7k resolutions with the Me Mode, which can hide your selfie stick. Or it can also double as a typical action cam with its single-lens mode at up to 4K 60fps.
Some AI
With the AI bandwagon going strong, Insta360 has also bestowed some AI features for this guy. You get a 5nm AI chip that hosts AI-powered shooting, editing features, and AI gesture control as well. Users can do no-effort AI edits and also some customized manual editing with ease. Likewise, the company also claims faster reframing and improved subject detection.
