Lenovo has launched the fourth generation of its Thinkpad X1 Extreme laptop. The newest Intel and NVIDIA chips crammed within it make it a powerhouse. So, let’s look at the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 including its specifications, features, availability, and expected price in Nepal.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 Overview:

Design and Display

To begin with, all of the internals of this laptop is protected by a thin, lightweight carbon fiber body. It has a 16-inch IPS display with two resolutions to choose from: QHD+ (2,560 x 1,600) and UHD+ (3,840 x 2,400).

The former has 400 nits of brightness and 100% sRGB color reproduction, while the latter has 600 nits of brightness, 100% Adobe RGB color space, HDR 400 Dolby Vision compatibility, and is available in touch or non-touch option. What remains constant between the two is the 60Hz refresh rate and reduced blue light technology to safeguard your eyes.

Powering the ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 is an 11th Gen Intel Core i9 H-series vPro processor with integrated Intel UHD graphics. In terms of GPU, you can select from four NVIDIA graphics cards – the Geforce RTX 3050 Ti, RTX 3060, RTX 3070, and RTX 3080.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 Hardware configurations

Memory options include up to 64GB DDR4-3200 RAM (2x SO-DIMM) and up to 4TB PCIe NVMe Gen 4 SSD. Lenovo has replaced the previous thermal arrangement with a new hybrid cooling system. The configuration includes traditional heat pipes, a large vapor chamber, a new keyboard air intake, and a dual bypass design to enhance air circulation.

Rest of the specs

Moving on, ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4’s keyboard is essentially the same as its predecessor. This means it features backlit keys with white LED lighting. Lenovo has opted for a larger trackpad this time, measuring 4.53 inches.

The speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning flank the edges of the keyboard. An infrared camera is located on the top bezel, while the fingerprint scanner is now integrated into the power button.

Likewise, IO options include two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, two Thunderbolt 4, one SD card slot, one headphone jack, and an HDMI 2/2.1 port. Booting the device is a 90Whr battery with a charging option available up to 230W.
