The battery is also inside the puck, with Meta claiming up to three hours of media playback. You can continue using the glasses even while the puck is charging. 

Connectivity and Compatibility

Moving on to connectivity, the Meta VR Glasses can connect to computers wirelessly. They also support a USB-C connection with compatible devices. This allows you to use the glasses as a virtual workspace with multiple screens. The Verge was able to mirror three windows from a nearby laptop during its hands-on.

The glasses are also designed to work with the existing Quest app catalog. Audio and Smart Features

Coming to the smart features, the Meta VR Glasses mainly rely on eye tracking and hand gestures for navigation. You can look at an option on the screen and pinch your thumb and index finger together to select it. Hand gestures can also be used for scrolling. Besides, Meta also showed a freeform workspace with multiple virtual screens, while The Verge tested a virtual keyboard and trackpad for typing and navigation. The controls were usable for short messages and emails, although the hands-on noted that a physical keyboard and mouse were still faster for longer tasks.

My Final Thoughts

From the announced features, the Meta VR Glasses look like an interesting take on VR.
