Moto G54 launched with Dimensity 7020, 50 MP camera, and 6000mAh battery

Motorola just announced the G54 but surprisingly the Chinese and Indian variants are a bit different from each other. Regardless, in this article, we will talk about the design, features, specifications, and expected price in Nepal of the Motorola Moto G54 (Indian variant).

Design and Display

The Moto G54 features a similar design to its predecessor, the Moto G53, with a plastic back and rectangular camera module. The Indian variant features a “glass-like” plastic back unlike the Chinese G54 with Vegan Leather. The Indian variant is also thicker (8.89 mm compared to 8.04mm on the Chinese one) and heavier (192 grams compared to 180 grams on the Chinese one). Motorola claims a water-repellent design but there is no official IP rating. Color options on the G54 5G include Mint Green, Midnight Blue, and Pearl Blue.   Moto G54 boasts a 6.5” FHD+ LCD display. The panel has a refresh rate of 120Hz alongside a 240Hz touch sampling rate. But, the device still has a slightly thick bottom bezel with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. 

Performance and Memory

Under the hood, Moto G54 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 processor. Fabbed under 6nm process, this octa-core chipset features two Cortex A76 cores at 2.2 GHz and 6 Cortex A55 cores at  2.0 GHz. Complementing the CPU is the integrated PowerVR IMG BXM-8-256 GPU. The base variant features 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM alongside 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The 12/256GB is the only other variant on sale. The phone boots on Android 13 and Motorola has promised 1 major Android update and 3 years of security patches.

Cameras and Battery

As for the optics, the Moto G454 gets a dual rear setup led by a 50MP primary shooter with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The complementary f/2.2 8MP ultrawide has a FoV of 118°. On the front, the 16MP selfie cam is housed in the hole-punch.  Unlike the Chinese variant, the Moto G54 (Indian) packs a large 6000mAh lithium battery. It charges faster too (33W compared to 15W).
