OnePlus Pad 4 launched with Snapdragon 8 Elite power in an ultra-slim body!

OnePlus Pad 4 has officially made its way in India as the successor to the Pad 3. Just as always, it comes with upgrades in performance, battery, and accessories, compared to its predecessor. The OnePlus Pad 4 features a top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, a massive 13,380 battery without compromising on thickness, and a new stylus, known as the OnePlus Stylo Pro. So here, in this article, I will discuss everything you need to know about the Pad 4, including its specifications, availability, and expected price in Nepal.

OnePlus Pad 4 Overview:

Design and Display

Starting with the design, the OnePlus Pad 4 features a premium ultra-slim metal unibody design, measuring 5.94mm thick, which is said to be thinner than a pencil. It weighs around 672g, making it slightly lighter than its predecessor, Pad 3, making it easy to carry and comfortable to use every day. It is available in two color options: Dune Glow and Sage Mist.

Moving on to the display, the Pad 4 comes with a few upgrades. It has a 13.2-inch LCD panel with a 3.4K resolution, delivering sharp visuals. The screen offers 700 nits of typical brightness during usage, and can reach up to 1000 nits of peak brightness, making it ideal to use even in a bright environment. Additionally, it supports up to 144Hz adaptive refresh rate to save the battery and has up to 540Hz touch sampling rate for instant responsiveness. 

Moreover, the display offers 12-bit color depth, 98% DCI-P3 color gamut, and a DeltaE≈0.7 to deliver vibrant, high-contrast, and nearly life-like images, making the Pad 4 perfect for content creators where color accuracy is the top priority.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, the OnePlus Pad 4 is powered by the latest flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, moving from the Snapdragon 8 Elite found on the Pad 3. It also features a 30% larger 40,760mm sq vapor chamber for thermal management during intensive tasks. The Pad 4 is configured with up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage, giving you ample space and fast performance for your apps and folders in the long run. 

If you are a heavy multitasker, you should go for the 12GB RAM model as it can open up to five free-flow windows simultaneously, whereas the 8GB variant is limited to only two.

On the software side, the Pad 4 boots OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, where OnePlus promises three years of major updates and four years of security upgrades. Likewise, the tablet features several AI tools, including AI writer and summary, AI recorder, AI painter, and AI clear call and translate to boost productivity. 

Camera and Battery

For the optics, the OnePlus Pad 4 has the same 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera as its predecessor, which supports 4K@30 fps from the back and 1080p@30 fps from the front video recording.

In terms of the battery, even with a thin chassis, the new Pad 4 packs the largest 13,380mAh battery that is said to offer up to 54 days of standby, 20 hours of video playback, and 7 hours of gaming on a single charge, making it excellent for all-day use. It is paired with 80W fast wired charging.

Audio and Accessories

Talking about the audio, the Pad 4 is also similar to the Pad 3 and has an eight-speaker setup, where you get four woofers and four tweeters. Based on how you are holding the tablet, the speakers automatically adjust left and right audio channels for clear listening while video streaming or gaming. It also has 2 microphones.

Stylus (OnePlus Stylo Pro)

Now for accessories, the OnePlus 4 has launched a new stylus featuring 16000 levels of pressure sensitivity for smooth and precise writing and sketching. Additionally, it comes with two different tips to use according to the requirement. 

One is a high-friction tip, which is ideal for writing and has the feel of a real pen, and the other is a low-friction tip, perfect for drawing and sketching. The OnePlus Stylo Pro boasts “0-pressure ink-discharge”, which means it starts drawing instantly as soon as it touches the screen, offering immediate and natural response.

Keyboard

OnePlus is soon to launch a smart keyboard too, for a PC-like experience. It has been said to move from a folio-style stand and now features a magnetic tilt mechanism for better viewing angles. Unlike the older model, the pogo-pin contact patch from the Pad 4 has been moved, and the keyboard will now take the power directly from the tablet, keeping you away from the hassle of charging it separately. Because of this, the Pad 3 keyboard will not be compatible with the new OnePlus Pad 4.

As said in the beginning, the OnePlus Pad 4 has been launched in India with a starting price of INR 59,999 for the base 8/256GB variant, while the upper model 12/512GB is priced at INR 64,999. If it is launched in Nepal, one can expect the starting price of the base model to be NPR 95,899, and the 12/512GB variant could be priced at NPR 104,099.
