Soundcore is the audio division of Chinese electronics manufacturer Anker Innovations Co. Ltd. It is also one of the go-to brands for audio accessories in Nepal. They recently launched open-fit earbuds in Nepal with Bluetooth v5.3 connectivity. In this article, we will look into the Soundcore AeroFit earbuds in further detail including its price in Nepal.

Design and Audio

As I mentioned, the Soundcore AeroFit comes in an open-fit design such that the buds go around the user’s ear. The earbuds feature an aerospace-grade titanium wire inside that allows it to retain its original shape even after 5,000 bends. They are also IPX7-rated and can withstand sweat exposure pretty easily. On top of that, these buds come in “skin-loving material” (likely silicone) which feels soft when wearing.

For audio, these open-fit earbuds come with 14mm dynamic drivers with a titanium polymer coating on the domes. The Soundcore AeroFit offers directional acoustics with its uniquely designed nozzles. Additionally, the buds are equipped with four beamforming microphones, which are then coupled with an AI algorithm to deliver a clear calling calling experience.

Talking of the features, the Soundcore AeroFit comes with touch controls, and Bluetooth v5.3 for wireless connection with your smartphone. They only support the standard AAC and SBC codecs though. These earbuds are compatible with the company’s custom earbuds app which allows you to fiddle around with settings and offers further functionalities. Starting with the multipoint connection, which connects these earbuds with up to two devices and also allows you to switch between them. Likewise, you also get access to custom EQs and Find Device features.

While that may sound like a lot, a quick 10-minute plugin can last four hours, which is more than enough for a commute to work or a gym session.

In the race for the fastest wired charging, Realme took the crown with its GT Neo 5, featuring a blistering 240W charging speed. This device later made its international debut as the Realme GT3 in 2023. While the company promised a full charge from 0 to 100% in under 10 minutes, real-world tests came close, achieving it in just 11 minutes and 16 seconds. That’s still remarkably fast!

Now, Realme has revealed its 320W SuperSonic charging technology, which is the ‘world’s fastest charging solution,’ during a special event in China on August 14.

A video has surfaced online showcasing the technology in action, and it appeared before the official launch. Whether this leak was accidental or intentionally planned to build excitement before the big reveal remains unclear. Regardless of the motive, the video is now out and says a lot.

As you can see in the video, it takes the phone to reach 15% charge in just 32 seconds, with a quick jump to 17% in the following 3 seconds.

Using a 4-cell battery

The 320W charging feat is achieved by using a 4-cell battery. The prototype charger is known as “Pocket Cannon” which looks similar to last year’s 240W brick. It has a new power density value of  3.3 Watts per centimeter (W/cm). The test battery was also just 4,400mAh while we have already seen Realme going a higher power battery in its phones. This compatible battery got its juice filled in just 4 minutes and 30 seconds which is mindboggling.

Well, this isn’t the first time a company has promised such stunning charging speeds. Last year, Redmi demoed their 300W solution by charging a Redmi Note 12 with a 4100mAh battery from 0% to 100% in just 5 minutes. But this time, Realme has just snatched the crown, rightfully.

However, we haven’t seen any devices using this technology yet, likely due to some issues like overheating. Let’s hope, it will be commercially available in the coming times.

The U4IA Sonic is somewhat reminiscent of the Realme T100 and Realme T110, due to its colour combination. That being said, they come in an in-ear fit with IPX5 water resistance. These earbuds are available in two colours: Black, and White. They have a yellow and a grey interior respectively, giving the whole package, a dual-tone finish.

For audio, the U4IA Sonic relies on 10mm drivers on each bud. With these, the company claims to offer “immersive sound quality”. They do not seem to have any form of noise cancellation. Hence, these earbuds are a pretty standard pair and are ideal to “start your wireless journey”, as the company puts it.

Features and Battery

The U4IA Sonic is pretty limited in terms of features as well. It does have the latest Bluetooth v5.4, which should offer a stable connection with your smartphone. The brand mentions “one-step pairing”, which could be referring to Google Pair support, but it’s unclear if that’s the case. These earbuds apparently also offer latency as low as 50ms and can tap into the phone’s voice assistant.

Talking of the battery, it packs 35mAh cells on the earpieces while the charging case has a 250mAh unit. Considering both, the U4IA Sonic can last up to 40 hours. Meanwhile, the earbuds alone are good to go for a quarter of the day. Once depleted of charge, you can plug it in via the USB Type-C port sitting at the bottom of the case.
