UMIDIGI Uwatch 5S now officially available in Nepal

UMIDIGI teased the launch of its first-ever smartwatch in the Nepali market a few days ago. To clarify, the company has had smartwatches but only in the international market. This is the first for Nepal. We guessed it was the UMIDIGI Uwatch 5S, and that indeed was the case! Let’s take a deeper look at the watch and along with its price in Nepal.

UMIDIGI Uwatch 5S Overview

Design and Display

The UMIDIGI Uwatch 5S comes in a squircle casing made out of aircraft-grade aluminium. It boasts 5ATM water resistance, so going on a swim with it is no problem at all. For navigation, it has two buttons on the right. This watch is available in three colour options: Space Grey, Titanium Grey, and Rose Gold.

On the front, it has a 1.7-inch colour display with touch support. UMIDIGI Uwatch 5S has gone with TFT LCD for its panel. The screen measures 240 x 280 pixels in resolution. Additionally, it has 2.5D tempered glass on top with an anti-fingerprint coating.

Features and Battery

The UMIDIGI Uwatch 5S is equipped with the PixArt PPG sensor for heart rate tracking. Meanwhile, it can also keep track of your blood oxygen, sleep, and menstrual cycle. Other than that, it can give you sedentary, medication, and water-drinking reminders as well. Unlike the standard UMIDIGI Uwatch 5, the 5S does not come with navigation support. However, it packs 9-axis sensors for activity tracking and offers 19 sports modes plus other various insights like calories burned, step count, distance covered, cadence, and so on.

For connection with your smartphone, it relies on Bluetooth v5.0 and is compatible with Android as well as iOS devices. You can link the watch with the OyeFit app to access all your fitness data. It offers additional functionalities like music control, camera remote, call and app notifications, but sadly misses out on Bluetooth calling. With all the features it offers, this watch can last up to 10 days on general usage with its 400mAh battery. Once depleted of charge, it can get back up in less than two-and-a-half hours with the two-pin charger you get in the box.

Infinix launched the Hot 40 series near the end of last year. As per exclusive news from Gizmochina, the company is working on the successor series. In this article, we will be looking into all that we know of the Infinix Hot 50 series so far.

Let’s look back…

Before getting into the nitty-gritty of the upcoming series, let’s take a look at the Infinix Hot 40 series. The series had three members: Hot 40i, Hot 40, and Hot 40 Pro. All of them were 4G-only offerings wherein the latter two rocked MediaTek Helio chips. The former came with a UNISOC silicon and even made its way to Nepal.

Apart from that, Infinix Hot 40 and Hot 40 Pro also collaborated with Free Fire for limited edition offerings.

What now?

Now the company is increasing the number of smartphones in its upcoming series. The Infinix Hot 50 series will have five different models. Gizmochina spotted these devices in the IMEI database along with their model numbers. The following are the spotted details:

What to expect?

Well, there is barely any information available about the upcoming series right now. We will have to look back at its predecessor to get some idea about it. No doubt, these phones will be budget phones. Hence, they will likely have low-powered chipsets.

The lowest offering from the series will be Infinix Hot 50i. The Hot 40i came with a UNISOC T606 processor, so we might see an incremental upgrade to T610 or T612 perhaps? Likewise, the Infinix Hot 40 was a singular offering with Helio G88 chipset. This time around, the Infinix Hot 50 will be available in 4G as well as 5G flavours. So, Infinix might go with the fairly recent 4G and older 5G chips. Meanwhile, it seems that the 50 Pro and Pro+ will both be 5G offerings, and the name suggests will likely pack even more capable processors than the base 5G model.

Soundcore is the audio division of Chinese electronics manufacturer Anker Innovations Co. Ltd. It is also one of the go-to brands for audio accessories in Nepal. They recently launched open-fit earbuds in Nepal with Bluetooth v5.3 connectivity. In this article, we will look into the Soundcore AeroFit earbuds in further detail including its price in Nepal.

Soundcore AeroFit Overview

Design and Audio

As I mentioned, the Soundcore AeroFit comes in an open-fit design such that the buds go around the user’s ear. The earbuds feature an aerospace-grade titanium wire inside that allows it to retain its original shape even after 5,000 bends. They are also IPX7-rated and can withstand sweat exposure pretty easily. On top of that, these buds come in “skin-loving material” (likely silicone) which feels soft when wearing.

For audio, these open-fit earbuds come with 14mm dynamic drivers with a titanium polymer coating on the domes. The Soundcore AeroFit offers directional acoustics with its uniquely designed nozzles. They optimise acoustic reflections allowing for precise re-direction of sound waves towards the user’s ears and preventing sound leakage. Additionally, the buds are equipped with four beamforming microphones, which are then coupled with an AI algorithm to deliver a clear calling calling experience.

Features and Battery

Talking of the features, the Soundcore AeroFit comes with touch controls, and Bluetooth v5.3 for wireless connection with your smartphone. They only support the standard AAC and SBC codecs though. These earbuds are compatible with the company’s custom earbuds app which allows you to fiddle around with settings and offers further functionalities. Starting with the multipoint connection, which connects these earbuds with up to two devices and also allows you to switch between them. Likewise, you also get access to custom EQs and Find Device features.

For power, they pack a large 85mAh battery on each side with an additional 750mAh in the charging case. With this, Soundcore is confident that the AeroFit can last up to 11 hours independently. DJI Mavic 3 is an excellent drone, but it’s an expensive affair for many. So the company announced the Mavic 3 Classic for a more palatable price point. Yes, there are some changes to the drone, but it’s an excellent bargain. So let’s go through the specs, features, availability, and official price of the DJI Mavic 3 Classic in Nepal.

The Mavic 3 Classic is nearly identical to the Mavic 3, but there is one significant difference. There is no telephoto lens here. Other than that, it is identical to the Mavic 3.That means you’ll be relying on a 4/3 CMOS 20MP camera that can capture video at 5.1K/50fps, 4K/60fps, and 1080p/60fps. You can also record slow-motion videos at 4K / 120fps and 1080p / 200fps.

U4IA Alpha is HERE as affordable earbuds with ANC

U4IA — a Nepali startup, entered the accessories market with several products. Now they are expanding their portfolio with two new earbuds. One of which is U4IA Alpha which comes with ANC among other things. In this article, we will discuss these buds in further detail along with its price in Nepal.

U4IA Alpha Overview

Design and Audio

The U4IA Alpha comes in an AirPod Pro-esque design with in-ear fitting and full White colour. However, their stems and more importantly the charging case with prominent company branding are key giveaways that it is a different product. Regardless, these earbuds come with IPX5 rating giving it resistance to water and sweat.

Inside, they pack a 10mm driver and two microphones on each side for all the audio duties. U4IA claims that the Alpha earbuds offer an immersive sound quality. Meanwhile, the quad-microphone setup suppresses the ambient noise during calls. Furthermore, these earbuds also offer active noise cancellation of up to 25dB along with Transparency Mode.

Moving on to the features, the U4IA Alpha is equipped with the latest Bluetooth v5.4 for wireless connectivity. You can connect them with devices running on any of these platforms: Android, iOS, or Windows. Additionally, these earbuds can access voice assistants on any of those devices. You also get touch control support and low latency of up to 50ms.

For power, these earbuds have a 40mAh battery on each side and a 350mAh cell in the charging case. As a result, the U4IA Alpha can last you nearly 45 hours combined. It comes with a USB Type-C port for charging. In the meantime, the company mentions “Fast Charging” in one of their promo materials. This could mean that you could plug these earbuds in for 10 to 15 minutes and get a few hours of playtime out of it.
