The successor to last year’s popular Poco F5 might be just around the corner according to recent leaks and speculations. In this article, let’s take a look at rumors surrounding the Poco F6 and what we know so far.
Poco F6 Rumors Roundup:
Let’s talk about Redmi K70
A couple of months ago, model numbers (thought to be) of the upcoming Redmi K70 smartphone(s) were spotted in a database. Speculators suggested that 23117RK66C, 2311DRK48C, and 23113RKC6C corresponded to Redmi K70e, K70, and K70 Pro respectively.
And if we were to play along, the first four digits ‘2311’ would suggest a launch this November. That’s pretty neat but what does it have to do with the Poco F6 you say? Well…
Poco F6 is actually…
For starters, Redmi K family phones have made international releases as Poco F devices. Like in the case of the Redmi K60 which debuted as Poco F5 Pro in India. So, it goes without saying that we feel the same about the upcoming K70. But that alone would be nothing more than pure speculation. Thankfully, we also have some substance to back it up.
A leaked screenshot by @i_hsay on Twitter suggests that POCO has received BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification to sell a smartphone carrying the model number “2311DRK48I”. This is the same as the Redmi K70 with the last letter replaced with an ‘I’. So, it’s likely that the K70 is coming to India as a Poco device.
Rumored specs
Rumors suggest that the Poco F6 will be powered by last year’s flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Alongside that, it is likely going to house a massive 5,500 mAh battery with support for up to 90W wired charging.
Poco F6: Launch and Availability
Although the Redmi K70 is likely to launch in China soon, its rebranded version will hit the market much later. As such, we expect the Poco F6 to launch in India in the Q1 of 2024. There aren’t any leads about the pricing right now but we’ll keep you updated as things happen.
