POCO F9 Ultra might come soon with a 200MP camera and 8,000mAh battery!

POCO is expected to introduce the F9 Ultra as its new flagship smartphone, bringing top-end hardware and several notable upgrades over last year’s POCO F8 Ultra. However, the phone is reportedly set to be a rebranded version of the Xiaomi Redmi K100 Pro Max Chinese variant, carrying similar flagship specifications across the display, performance, cameras, battery, and audio departments. In this article, I will discuss everything we know about the upcoming phone so far, including the expected POCO F9 Ultra price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

POCO F9 Ultra Overview (Rumors)

Upgraded Camera

Starting off, the POCO F9 Ultra is expected to come with one of the biggest camera upgrades, with a 200MP main sensor, accompanied by a 50MP 5X periscope telephoto and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. If these specifications are accurate, this would give POCO a much more versatile camera setup, particularly with the dedicated periscope lens. The 5X optical zoom should capture distant subjects with better detail than digital zoom, while OIS on the main and telephoto cameras could also help with handheld and low-light shots.

Moving on, the F9 Ultra is also rumored to feature a 32MP front-facing camera with 4K video recording at 30fps. Overall, the camera hardware looks promising on paper, although the final image quality will depend heavily on POCO's processing and tuning.

Under the hood, the POCO F9 Ultra is expected to use Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset alongside the VisionBoost D8 chipset—similar to the dual chipset architecture we saw in its predecessor. So you can expect a similar gaming experience from this phone too. That means the chipset should easily handle demanding games, multitasking, and other intensive workloads that require heavy graphics comfortably.

However, the performance and thermal management will be equally important to get better results. So, considering the previous generation multi-layer IceLoop cooling system, we can expect POCO to further refine the cooling on the F9 Ultra to help maintain stable performance during longer gaming sessions.

Memory-wise, the phone is rumored to offer up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage, providing plenty of room for demanding apps, games, and large files. On the software side, it is expected to run HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, bringing the latest Android platform alongside Xiaomi's custom features.

In terms of design, the POCO F9 Ultra is expected to retain a similar look and texture to its predecessor, including the rectangular camera island on the back. For audio, the POCO F9 Ultra is rumored to feature a Bose-tuned 2.1 stereo speaker system with a dedicated woofer. This could provide fuller and more immersive sound, while Dolby Atmos should further enhance the experience when watching movies or playing games.
