Design and Display 

Being a budget device, Lenovo IdeaPad 3 features an all-plastic build made up of ABS top and bottom. It comes in 4 different color options, including Abyss Blue, Artic Grey, Galaxy Blue, and Sand. It weighs around 1.65 kilos, so it’s relatively portable and suitable for everyday carry.

The display is, unfortunately, a TN panel instead of an LCD one. It is a 15.6″ non-touch panel that can reach a maximum brightness of 250 nits. It has an anti-glare coating and covers 45% of the NTSC color gamut.

Chipset and Memory

AMD’s Ryzen 5550U powers the Lenovo Ideapad 3 2021. This SoC has 6 cores and 12 threads with a max boost frequency of 4.0 GHz. Besides that, it has 8MB of L3 cache memory. On the GPU front, it has AMD’s integrated Radeon graphics.

With this laptop, you get 8GB of DDR4 memory which can be upgraded down the line to 12 GB. For storage, this ships with 256GB of M.2 SSD, which can be expanded as well.

Battery and Connectivity

IdeaPad 3 2021 has a 38Wh battery. It has decent battery life relative to its competitors and can last a few hours on causal use. It ships with a 65W adapter provided in the box.

For wired connections, you get a USB 2.0 Type-A, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C, an HDMI, a card reader, and a 3.5mm headphone/microphone jack.
