Design and Build 

Despite being in the budget laptop category, the Lenovo Ideapad 3i is well-built with no hinge or flexing issues. It’s not cumbersome at 1.41 kilos and is pretty convenient to use.

The large 14″ display is an IPS panel of FHD resolution (1920×1080). It can go up to 300 nits in brightness and covers 45% of the NTSC color gamut. The keyboard unfortunately lacks a backlight so working in dimly lit environments might be bothersome.

Performance and Memory

The Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3i 2021 is powered by Intel’s 11 th gen Core i5 processor. The Intel core i5-1135G7 is an efficient mobile processor that can deliver smooth performance for day-to-day tasks and office work. You get an NVIDIA GeForce MX350 graphics card to handle graphics-intensive workloads.

This laptop comes with 16GB of DDR4 RAM that cannot be expanded any further. At purchase, you get 256GB of M.2 2280 SSD for long-term storage. Alongside that, you also get 1TB of HDD in this variant. The fun part is you can replace that SSD with a 1 TB one. So you can have up to 2 TB of storage on this laptop (1TB SSD + 1TB HDD).

Battery and Connectivity 

Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3i 2021 ships with a 38Wh battery. It’s not a very big battery but it can last you for a couple of hours at light workloads.

As for port selection, you get an old-fashioned USB 2 type-A port, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port, an HDMI 1.4b port, a Card reader, and a 3.5mm headphone/microphone jack.

For wireless connectivity, you have your standard Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 technology.
