Build and Display

The Ideapad 5 2022 offers an aluminum metal body. It is 16.9mm thick and weighs around 1.85 kg. The matte screen measures 15.6″ diagonally and boasts 300 nits of brightness. There are dual stereo up-firing speakers, a backlit keyboard, and a fingerprint reader for security.

Performance and Memory

Under the hood, Lenovo IdeaPad 5 (2022) has a Ryzen 7 5825U processor. This is a “Barcelo” refresh of the Cezanne-based Ryzen 5800U. The new processor brings higher base and boost frequencies. It comes with 16GB DDR4x RAM but unfortunately, it is non-upgradable. For storage, you get a 1 TB M.2 SSD and an empty 2.5 ” disk slot for storage expansion.

Battery and Connectivity 

In the tank of the Ideapad 5 2022 (AMD) is a 56.5 Wh battery pack. It is rated for up to 13.6 hours of local video playback and 10.6 hours in MobileMark 2018 benchmark at 200 nits. The Ideapad ships with a 65-Wh power adapted, adding up to 2 hours of usage on a quick 15-minute charge using Rapid Charge Boost.

As for wired connections, you get four USB ports, including two Type-C, one HDMI, one SD card reader, and a combined audio jack.
