POCO F5 is the latest addition to the company's F-series of smartphones. It's the successor to last year's POCO F4, and a rebranded Redmi Note 12 Turbo. It offers major improvements in performance, thanks to Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip, which delivers a performance comparable to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. To complement such raw power, POCO has included a 3625mm² vapor chamber cooling system consisting of 14 layers of graphite sheets. The memory options here range up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. In terms of cameras, the phone features a 64MP main shooter, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro lens. Additionally, there's a 16MP front camera for selfies. The phone is powered by a 5000mAh battery with 67W charging support. As for the display, POCO F5 features a 6.67" 12-bit AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.

POCO F5 is available in a couple of fun color options, including "Snowstorm White", "Electric Blue", and "Carbon Black". The phone is pretty slim and lightweight, measuring 7.9mm thick and weighing around 181 grams. This is also thanks to POCO F5's plastic build material. By the way, the phone is also IP53 dust/splash resistant.

Coming to the display, it has a 6.67" FHD AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Besides its ridiculously thin bezels for a midrange phone, there are a bunch of other interesting features too. For example, this screen has 12-bit color depth, which means it can display over 68 billion colors! Similarly, it also has Dolby Vision, HDR10+, 1920Hz PWM dimming, and SGS Eye Care support. Whereas the phone has a peak brightness of 1000 nits.

Performance

In terms of performance, POCO F5 is powered by the all-new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip. Manufactured under TSMC's 4nm process, this processor is pretty similar to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1—except that it has slightly underclocked high-performance and mid-performance cores. This has been complemented with 8/12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
