POCO F5 Overview:
Design and Display
POCO F5 is available in a couple of fun color options, including “Snowstorm White”, “Electric Blue”, and “Carbon Black”. The phone is pretty slim and lightweight, measuring 7.9mm thick and weighing around 181 grams. This is also thanks to POCO F5’s plastic build material. By the way, the phone is also IP53 dust/splash resistant.
Coming to the display, it has a 6.67″ FHD AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Besides its ridiculously thin bezels for a midrange phone, there are a bunch of other interesting features too. For example, this screen has 12-bit color depth, which means it can display over 68 billion colors! Similarly, it also has Dolby Vision, HDR10+, 1920Hz PWM dimming, and SGS Eye Care support. Whereas the phone has a peak brightness of 1000 nits.
Performance
In terms of performance, POCO F5 is powered by the all-new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip. Manufactured under TSMC’s 4nm process, this processor is pretty similar to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1—except that it has slightly underclocked high-performance and mid-performance cores. This has been complemented with 8/12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
The phone runs on the latest Android 13-based MIUI 14 for POCO on top. And the company has promised 2 generations of OS and 3 years of security updates too. POCO F5 has a decent thermal solution, consisting of a vapor chamber cooling system and graphite sheets.
Cameras
As for the cameras, you get three of them at the back. The main sensor is a 64MP unit with OIS, which is followed by an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro camera. There is a 32MP selfie shooter up front.
Rest of the specs
POCO F5 gets its juice from a modest 5000mAh battery. It supports 67W fast charging and the company provides a 67W power adapter inside the box itself. Its stereo speakers support Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio, while POCO continues to include essential features like an IR blaster and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There’s a side-mounted fingerprint sensor as the biometric option here.
