Design, Display
Redmi 12 has a boxy design with a glass back. For biometrics, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It's available in Midnight Black, Polar Silver, and Sky Blue colors. The front has the same 6.8-inch screen, with FullHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The panel employs AdaptiveSync technology, which adjusts the refresh rate between 36Hz, 48Hz, 60Hz, and 90Hz based on the content. And covering the screen is a layer of Gorilla Glass 3.
Performance
Performance for the Redmi 12 is more than adequate for everyday chores with MediaTek Helio G88 SoC. This is paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of eMMC storage. While some manufacturers have begun to offer UFS storage on lower-cost devices, eMMC appears to be a letdown here. Similarly, the phone operates on the Android 13-based MIUI 14.
