Samsung Galaxy S22+ has a similar design as last year's Galaxy S21 Plus. But this time, the company has used a squared-off finish with round edges like the latest iPhones. The phone measures just 7.6mm thick while weighing 196 grams. It is also IP68 certified against dust and water damage. Since this is a flagship phone, the Galaxy S22+ uses premium build materials throughout the device.

You'll find Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ both on the front and the back of the phone, whereas its frames are made of Armored Aluminum for additional durability. Upfront, Samsung has gone with a 6.6-inches Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 240Hz touch sampling rate. The company says this screen can hit up to 1750 nits of peak brightness. Furthermore, it also supports the new "Vision Booster" feature that adjusts the screen's colors and contrast levels to ensure top-notch visibility even under direct sunlight.

Performance

Powering the phone is either Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2200 chip. Both are manufactured under Samsung's 4nm process node and have been coupled with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM alongside 128/256GB UFS 3.1 storage. This time, Samsung has shipped the Snapdragon variant of the Galaxy S series in markets like Nepal and India, while it previously used to be limited to select regions like the US, China, and South Korea only.

Galaxy S22+ runs on Android 12-based One UI 4.1. Samsung has promised 4 years of Android and 5 years of security updates for the Galaxy S22 series as well.

The phone has a triple camera setup at the back that includes a 50MP main sensor. This is followed by a 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. For selfies, it brings a 10MP sensor inside the hole-punch cutout. Galaxy S22+ gets its juice from a modest 4500mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging. It also supports 15W wireless and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
