Nubia has just unveiled its latest gaming beasts in China, the RedMagic 11 Pro and its elder sibling, the RedMagic 11 Pro+. Both of these are powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset (as expected), and the differences between the two are also very minimal. Now, let’s dive into this article, where I’ll discuss everything about the latest RedMagic 11 Pro series, specifically the differences between the RedMagic 11 Pro and 11 Pro+, their expected price in Nepal, and other relevant details.
RedMagic 11 Pro and 11 Pro+ Overview
Display and design
You’re getting the same display across both phones with a 6.85-inch BOE X10 AMOLED panel that runs at 1.5K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. The bezels on both of these gaming phones are razor-thin, just 1.25mm. There’s an under-display camera upfront, and yes, the fingerprint scanner also sits beneath the display.
The Pro and Pro+ also share a similar design language, but the real difference shows up in the colors and finishes. The 11 Pro keeps it simple with “Dark Knight” and “Silver Winged War God” finishes, while the Pro+ goes a bit flashy with transparent versions of both of them. The 11 Pro+ lets you see the cooling system inside and adds LED lighting as well. But at the same time, the 11 Pro+ also features a non-transparent “Dark Knight” version as well.
Performance and cooling
Since the RedMagic series has been an enthusiast gaming phone, it should be obvious what kind of chipset it features. At the heart of both phones is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the latest Qualcomm flagship chipset already featured in major flagships.
This is backed by the R4 gaming chip developed by Nubia itself. You can spec it up to 24GB LPDDR5T RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 Pro storage.
And there’s also an active fan and a liquid metal VC on both of these devices. But on the Pro+, you’d find an extra water cooling layer to keep things under control when the device starts drawing excessive power and heat. Both devices run on RedMagic OS 11 (based on Android 16), with a few AI tweaks baked in.
Camera and battery
Both RedMagic 11 Pro and 11 Pro+ pack a dual 50MP setup at the back, one main and one ultrawide. On the front, there’s a 16MP under-display camera for selfies. Yep, these flagship phones don’t even have a dedicated zoom camera. Although I don’t think anyone with photography priorities is eyeing a gaming phone in the first place.
Similarly, Nubia has also gone quite big on the battery side.
The Pro model features a larger 8,000 mAh cell, while its 11 Pro+ sibling cuts it to a slightly smaller 7,500 mAh battery. But the one with the bigger battery has slower 80W wired charging compared to 120W speeds on the Pro+. The RedMagic 11 Pro+ also has 80W wireless charging capability.
