One thing to look out for here is the refresh rate; you’re getting a huge 6.9-inch Full HD+ screen and 288Hz touch sampling with 144Hz of refresh rate. Similarly, another interesting thing is that Xiaomi has added Wet Touch Technology 2.0, which means the screen actually works properly when your fingers are wet.

More often than not, budget phones struggle with this, so it’s a nice touch. As for the design, the Redmi 15 phone comes in three colors: Ripple Green, Titan Gray, and Midnight Black.

Performance and Software

We had previously noted that the Redmi 15 would be powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor, but the one available in Nepal is a 4G variant with a less powerful Snapdragon 685 chip instead. You can get this budget phone in either 6/128GB or 8/256GB configurations.

Meanwhile, the phone runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15, plus virtual RAM expansion up to 16GB if you need the extra headroom.

Battery life champion

Okay, so here’s the main event – that 7,000mAh battery. This thing should easily last two days of normal use, maybe even more if you’re not a heavy user. Yeah, 33W charging is still the same wattage we have been seeing in the last couple of years in this series. It’s a real bummer that they aren’t willing to improve the charging speed anytime soon.

But they have also included 18W reverse charging, so you can juice up other devices in a pinch. All things considered, this is clearly a good sign that most smartphones are moving in a good direction, focusing on batteries. I really hope Samsung does the same as well.

Camera and other features

The camera setup is – 50MP main sensor with an unspecified auxiliary lens, plus an 8MP front camera.  Security is handled by a side-facing fingerprint sensor, and you get IP64 water resistance for basic protection. Audio gets Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos support.  They packed in some AI tricks too – Circle to Search, AI Eraser, AI Sky, and Dynamic Shots. These are becoming standard on most Xiaomi phones now, so it’s good to see them trickle down to budget devices.
