Compared to the Redmi Note 15 5G, the Note 15 SE comes with a more premium design, a curved AMOLED display, and a slightly bigger 5800mAh battery!

Xiaomi has officially introduced the special edition variant of the Redmi Note 15 5G model in India. The new Redmi Note 15 SE is more about the premium design, aesthetic, and extended battery life. It’s good news for Redmi Note 15 lovers as this offers more options to choose from. In this article, I will talk about how the Redmi Note 15 SE is special and go through its features, design, and expected price in Nepal.
Redmi Note 15 SE Overview
Design and Display
To start with the design, the Redmi Note 15 SE is available in three different colour options, such as Crimson Reserve, Frosted White, and Carbon Black. Their Crimson Reserve model features a vegan leather back panel with a gold colour frame, for the premium look. The vegan leather back offers great grip, good in-hand feel, and you don’t have to worry about scratches or sweaty hands. Meanwhile, the Frosted white version has a clean and minimalist matte design offering a smooth and velvety feel, and for the people who are into classics, the Carbon Black would be perfect. These devices are slim and lightweight, however, you can feel the Crimson colour option slightly heavier because it is a little on the thicker side compared to other models.

Moving on to the display, you get a huge 6.77-inch FHD+ curved AMOLED screen with up to 3200nits of peak brightness and 800nits maximum brightness, meaning it offers a clear view and vibrant colour, even if you are under harsh sunlight. It comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes your scrolling experience quite snappy. The device also have a offcial IP65/IP66 rating, making it dust and splash-resistant.
Performance and Software
Talking about the performance, the Redmi Note 15 SE ships with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, along with 6/8GB of RAM, which is quite decent for your daily tasks. Since this is an entry-level chipset, don’t expect to run heavy tasks like 4K video editing, multitasking or playing heavy games. Additionally, it offers 128GB or 256GB of storage options, which you can expand up to 1TB with microSD card, in case you need extra space. However, with the microSD card, your device might not reach up to its full potential. Likewise, the Redmi Note 15 SE boots on Xiaomi Hyper OS 2 based on Android 15. You will get 4 years of OS updates with 6 years of security patches.
Camera and Rest
In terms of the camera, the Redmi Note 15 SE features a 50MP main camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, which is common in mid-range devices and delivers decent photos under daylight. You can record videos up to 4K at 30fps. For selfies, you get a 20MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture.
As for the battery, you get a 5800mAh silicon-carbon battery with 45W fast wired charging, which you will get with the box. This means it can last up to 1.5 to 3 days on a single charge, but remember this depends on how you use your device. During heavy usage, you can expect it to last 6-12 hours, mostly.

Moving on with connectivity, the Redmi Note 15 SE comes with Wi-Fi 6, along with Bluetooth version 5.1. For the ports, the device has USB Type-C version 2.0.
