Xiaomi Nepal already launched all the phones in the Redmi 9 lineup, except for the most expensive version – the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. But, it is finally here in Nepal and will be available for purchase from 12th August, across 1800+ Mi offline stores and online stores. The Note 9 Pro Max is similar to that of the Note 9 Pro, except for a slightly better camera and a faster 33W charging.
Redmi Note 9 Pro Max Overview
Design And Display
Redmi Note 9 Pro Max comes with Aura Balance Design which is nothing but an improvisation to last year’s Aura Design. It features a curved glass panel on the back. On the front, it sports a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display with a FullHD+ resolution. The company calls this the DotDisplay. The display has an aspect ratio of 20:9. The display has a circular cut-out on the top center of the device. Unlike the similarly priced Realme 6 Pro, the device has a single camera on the front and the display and a standard 60Hz panel.

On can notice the quad-camera setup on the back. LED flash resides just below the camera arrangement. It is the first among the Redmi Note devices to come with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The sensor is on the ride side of the device. Redmi has curved the edges of the device so that it can withstand damages through accidental drops. The device comes with Corning Gorilla 5 glass that protects the front, back, and the camera.
Chipset
Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720G. It is the same SoC that we saw earlier in the Realmi 6 Pro. It comes with Qualcomm’s Elite Gaming features for the better gaming experience. Users can choose between 6 and 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Both of the variants come with 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. However, there is a separate 64GB variant available for the 6GB RAM option.
Camera
Redmi Note 9 Pro Max comes with a 64MP quad-camera setup on the back. The primary camera uses Samsung’s GW1 sensor. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor with 109-degree FOV, a 5MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. Redmi claims that its image processing technique together with the minimum 6GB RAM results in better high-quality pictures than other 64MP camera setups available on the market. The Note 9 Pro Max’s camera features includes RAW photography, Pro Colour, Night mode, and the 21:9 frame support.
For selfies, there is a 32MP camera sensor under the top center of the display which comes AI portrait mode.
Others
Redmi Note 9 Pro Max gets its juice from a 5,020mAh battery which can be charged using the 33W fast charger that is included inside the box. The device comes equipped with a 3.5mm headphone jack and IR blaster as in other Redmi devices. It also includes a new Z-axis vibration, which the company claims will redefine the haptic feedback. Other than that, it comes with support for 2×2 MIMO for Wi-Fi to reduce lags while gaming. It also supports India’s NavIC navigation system.
