Xiaomi re-entered the tablet market with the mid-range Pad 5 last year. While we are yet to see its successor, the company announced a budget-centric Redmi Pad, which is now available in Nepal. So, let’s look at the specs, features, expected price, and availability of the Redmi Pad in Nepal.

Redmi Pad Overview:

Design and Display

Redmi Pad is built around a 10.61-inch screen with a 2K resolution. Like most other tablets in this price range, the screen is based on LCD technology. It boasts a 10-bit color depth and typical brightness of 400 nits. Above all, the Redmi Pad has 90Hz refresh rate which is not something you see in a budget tablet.

Coming to the look, Redmi Pad sports a flat design with a 7.1cm thickness and 465 grams weight. The back is said to be metal and is available in three colors: Graphite Grey, Moonlight Silver, and Mint Green.

Performance and Memory

Under the hood, Redmi Pad packs the new Helio G99 from MediaTek. This chip is based on the power-efficient 6nm process and features two Cortex-A76 (@2.2GHz) and six Cortex-A55 cores (@2.0GHz). The chip is paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. You can even expand the storage up to 1TB using an SD card.

Software

On the software side, the Redmi Pad ships with Android 12 out of the box with MIUI for Pad on the top. This particular version of the MIUI comes with a dock and features like multi-windows, floating windows, and split-screen. Xiaomi is even promising 2 years of Android updates and 3 years of security patches on its latest budget Redmi tablet.

Rest of the specs

Redmi Pad has two 8MP cameras – one on the back and the other at the front. The one on the front has a wider Field of View of 105-degree. It even supports FocusFrame which intelligently adjusts the frame to include all the subjects and their movements.

As for audio, Redmi Pad has a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos. The tablet is fueled by an 8,000mAh battery which supports 18W charging. However, you get a 22.5W charger in the box.
