Vivo X Fold6 launched as an ultra-slim book-style foldable with a 7,000mAh battery

Vivo has officially announced the X Fold6 as the successor to the X Fold5, further expanding its premium foldable lineup. Marking a shift away from Qualcomm's Snapdragon platform, the new flagship is powered by the Dimensity 9500 Super Edition and features a 200MP camera, an 8.02-inch AMOLED foldable display, and a massive 7,000mAh battery. In this article, I will discuss everything you need to know about the Vivo X Fold6, including its specifications, availability, and expected price in Nepal. 

Vivo X Fold6 Overview

Design and Display

Starting with the design, the Vivo X Fold6 has moved away from the sharp, rigid corners found on the X Fold5 and adopts a quad-curved design with rounded corners on both the inner and outer chassis, offering a more comfortable grip during everyday use.

The phone measures 4.40mm thin when unfolded and 9.40mm when folded, and weighs around 228g, depending on the color variant. Additionally, it comes with IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance. It is available in Blue Cave, Salt Lake, Extreme Night, and Black Gold color options.

Moving on to the display, the Vivo X Fold6 sports an 8.02-inch internal folding AMOLED display and a 6.51-inch AMOLED cover screen. The inner panel has a resolution of 2504 × 2312 pixels, while the outer display comes in at 2528 × 1120 pixels, ensuring sharp visuals across both screens.

Both displays can reach up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness for improved outdoor visibility and support an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz for smoother scrolling and animations. For extended use, Vivo has also included 1,920Hz PWM dimming to reduce eye strain in low-light conditions.

Camera and Battery

For optics, the Vivo X Fold6 features a Zeiss-tuned triple-camera setup. It includes a 200MP Samsung HPB primary sensor with a 1/1.4-inch sensor size, an f/1.68 aperture, and OIS, marking a significant upgrade over the 50MP main camera on its predecessor.

Joining it is a 50MP Zeiss APO periscope telephoto camera based on the Sony LYT-602 sensor, offering 3x optical zoom with OIS, alongside a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 119-degree field of view for wider shots. Vivo has also added support for the Zeiss Teleconverter G2 accessory kit, giving photography enthusiasts more flexibility when shooting at longer focal lengths. For selfies and video calls, the phone houses two separate 20MP front-facing cameras—one on the cover display and another on the inner folding screen.

In terms of battery life, the Vivo X Fold6 packs a huge 7,000mAh battery, making it one of the largest in a book-style foldable. While there is no information on its local market launch, if it is announced here, one can expect the Vivo X Fold6 price in Nepal to be around NPR 176,599 for the base 12/256 GB model.
