Vivo Y05e quietly goes official with 5,150mAh battery and military-grade durability

Vivo has quietly expanded its budget Y-series portfolio with the launch of the Vivo Y05e. Vivo opts for durability, battery life, and everyday performance over flashy features, so this phone can address the needs of users looking for an affordable smartphone for everyday use. In this article, I will explain this phone in detail, including the expected Vivo Y05e price in Nepal, specifications, and availability. 

Vivo Y05e Overview

Design and Display

Starting with the design, Vivo keeps things simple and sticks to a familiar layout in the Vivo Y05e that we mostly saw in budget phones, including flat edges and a waterdrop notch. And you also get a vertically placed pill-shaped camera island on the back. It is also fairly lightweight, weighing around 199 grams, which makes the phone comfortable to hold even during extended use. 

For durability, this phone has an IP64 rating against dust and water along with the MIL-STD certification so that you can use it without worrying much about damage from an accidental drop. And it is only available in the “Green” color with a glossy back panel finish. 

Up front, the Vivo Y05e features a 6.74-inch LCD panel with an HD+ resolution, which should be sufficient for everyday activities like social media scrolling, messaging, and more. However, you might not get the image and text on the screen as crisp as they are on other higher-resolution screens. Likewise, Vivo has not revealed other details about the display, but it said that this phone has decent brightness and a refresh rate that will offer good outdoor visibility and user experience while using this phone. 

Performance and Software

Under the hood, Vivo Y05e uses the entry-level Unisoc Tiger T606 chipset that we saw previously in the Google Play Console listing before the launch of this phone. Since this chip is designed for basic everyday tasks, you might not face any issues during day-to-day social media scrolling, web browsing, and watching content on YouTube. 

However, if you are looking for this phone for gaming, the experience might not be the same. So, you can check other mid-range phones like Redmi 15 4G and Vivo Y29 for a better gaming experience. 

Memory-wise, this phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while Vivo also offers 4GB of virtual RAM expansion to improve multitasking in this phone. On the software front, Vivo Y05e runs on OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. This means they have finally moved away from the FuntouchOS that we saw in its predecessor.

For photography, this phone sports an 8MP rear camera in the back, and a front waterdrop notch houses a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. This means you could use it for document scanning, but don't expect much more than that.
