Vivo has expanded the Y29 lineup by introducing Vivo Y29s 5G and 4G. However, in this article I will be discussing the specifications of the Y29s 5G variant only. Some notable features of this device are the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM.
Vivo Y29s 5G Overview
Design and Display
At first glance, the Vivo Y29s 5G looks very similar to the Vivo Y04 4G, so much so that I was unsure if it was the same device. It has the same sleek, plain Jade Green and shimmering Titanium Gold color. The device measures 167.30 x 76.95 x 8.19mm and weighs 199 grams. On the back, you’ll find a pill-shaped camera module with two cameras and an LED light. The volume buttons and power button are on the right side, while the SIM tray is on the left. The phone is also durable with an IP64 rating, SGS, and military-grade shock resistance. For security, it has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
On the front, the Y29s 5G features a 6.74-inch LCD waterdrop-notch display with a 1600 x 720 pixels resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 570 nits.

Performance and Battery
I would say Vivo Y29s 5G is a rebranded Vivo Y04, but the device makes a difference in the processor. Unlike the Unisoc T7225 of Vivo Y04, the Vivo Y29s 5G runs on an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset (built on a 6nm process) with 2 ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and 6 ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. It also has an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU for graphics. This chipset performs well for everyday tasks and moderate gaming, handling apps and multitasking without any issues.
The handset comes with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, with an option to expand storage by up to 2TB via a microSD card. The device runs on the latest Funtouch OS 15, based on Android 15. Inside, there’s a 5,500mAh battery that supports 15W charging.
Camera and Other Features
The camera setup includes a dual rear camera with a 50MP primary sensor and a 0.08MP auxiliary sensor. For selfies, there’s a 5MP front camera. The phone offers Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C, and GPS for connectivity.
