After recently launching its latest foldable, Xiaomi has now unveiled its latest numbered flagship in China. The Xiaomi 18 Pro has officially launched alongside the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, succeeding last year’s Xiaomi 17 Pro. It brings a new 2nm flagship chipset, Leica-powered cameras, a larger battery, and an upgraded rear display.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro retains the flagship look of its predecessor while keeping the body slim at just 7.2mm and weighing 203 grams, even with its huge 7,000mAh battery. The phone sports a 6.4-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 1120 x 2436-pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and support for 68 billion colors, Dolby Vision, HDR Vivid, HDR10+, and BT.2020. It reaches up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness, powered by Xiaomi’s new M11 OLED light-emitting system, and uses 2160Hz PWM dimming. The display is protected by Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0.
One of the biggest upgrades is Xiaomi’s hardware-level Smart Privacy Display, similar in concept to the privacy display on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. It uses dedicated privacy pixels to narrow the light-emission angle, reducing visibility from the sides while keeping the screen clear when viewed directly. Xiaomi says it can restrict visibility beyond 60 degrees. Users can also apply privacy protection to specific notifications, floating windows, split-screen content, and selected pages in apps such as banking and social media.
The display also uses Xiaomi’s Super Pixel 2.0 architecture with a full RGB sub-pixel layout and 8.18 million sub-pixels, designed to maintain clarity while improving power efficiency.
Moving to the rear, the Xiaomi 18 Pro features a versatile 2.7-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a 596 x 976-pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 4,000 nits brightness. Beyond showing personalized wallpapers and AI-generated visuals, it can act as a viewfinder for the rear cameras and support duet-style photos. Xiaomi also adds a Smart Rear-Screen Companion that can respond to voice commands, answer questions, remember details, and control supported phone and Mi Home functions.
Performance and Software
Qualcomm only announced its new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chips yesterday, and Xiaomi has already put one of them inside the Xiaomi 18 Pro. In fact, the 18 Pro is the first smartphone to launch with the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, making it one of the earliest real-world showcases of Qualcomm’s newest flagship platform.
The chipset is built on a 2nm process and features Qualcomm’s latest Oryon CPU architecture. It is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, while Xiaomi also adds a large cooling system to handle demanding workloads.
On the software side, the Xiaomi 18 Pro runs HyperOS 4 based on Android 17. The new software brings Xiaomi’s latest AI features and system-level improvements, while the phone’s rear display adds some extra functionality, including voice controls, AI-generated visuals, and smart-home controls.
Camera
The Xiaomi 18 Pro features a Leica-tuned triple-camera setup, headlined by two 200MP sensors. The primary camera uses a 200MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, 23mm focal length, dual-pixel PDAF, and OIS. It is paired with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with an f/2.4 aperture, 75mm focal length, OIS, and 3.2x optical zoom. The telephoto also supports close focusing from as near as 10cm, allowing it to handle macro shots as well.
Completing the setup is a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 102-degree field of view and PDAF. The camera system also includes laser autofocus, a color spectrum sensor, Leica optics, and a dual-LED dual-tone flash.
For video, the rear cameras can record up to 8K at 30fps with HDR, while 4K recording goes up to 120fps. It also supports HDR10+, 10-bit Dolby Vision HDR, 10-bit LOG, and gyro-EIS. Slow-motion recording goes up to 960fps at 1080p and 1,920fps at 720p.
For selfies, the Xiaomi 18 Pro has a 50MP front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture, 21mm focal length, and PDAF. It can record up to 4K at 60fps and supports HDR10+ and gyro-EIS.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Price in Nepal and Availability
The Xiaomi 18 Pro has been launched officially in China with a starting price of CNY 5,999 for the 12/256GB variant. The 12/512GB model costs CNY 6,999, while the 16/512GB and 16GB/1TB versions are priced at CNY 7,999 and CNY 8,999, respectively. There is also a 16GB/1TB Transparent Edition priced at CNY 9,999.
Xiaomi has also confirmed that the 18 Pro will be available globally, with the phone coming soon to Nepal. However, the official Nepal pricing and launch date have yet to be announced. Based on the Chinese pricing, the converted price of the Xiaomi 18 Pro starts at around NPR 137,399.
