Alongside the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, Xiaomi also launched its latest midrange tablets. The Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro. This mid-range tablet has Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and it’s launching in the global market as well. So let’s explore what this tablet has to offer, alongside the expected price of the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro in Nepal.
Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro Overview
Elegant design and a fast display
The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro looks simple in its own way. The tablet is thin at just 5.75 – 5.8 mm, while weighing between 485 and 494 grams depending on the model. Since, like the regular Xiaomi Pad 8, the Pro version also gets an optional “Nano Texture” display that can cut reflections by 70%.
The Pad 8 Pro doesn’t have any sort of IP rating, but it does come in a couple of interesting color options like Gray, Blue, and Green.
Unfortunately, Xiaomi didn’t bring any upgrades to the display this time. We are seeing the same 11.2-inch LCD panel, which can go up to 144Hz. It also has 12-bit colors, 800 nits of peak brightness, 360Hz touch sampling rate, and a 3.2K resolution.
The only new addition here compared to the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro is that it now supports the HDR Vivid standard, alongside HDR10 and Dolby Vision.
Upgraded chip
As for performance, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is powered by a flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Which was only recently succeeded by 8 Elite Gen 5, by the way. And although it is now Qualcomm’s second-most powerful mobile chip, it’s still a massive performance leap over Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 on the Pad 7 Pro.
With something like 78% better CPU and 105% better GPU performance according to Xiaomi.
Additionally, this has been paired with either 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM (8533 Mbps) or 12/16GB of faster LPDDR5T RAM (9600 Mbps). Xiaomi has also gone with a slower UFS 3.1 storage on the base 128GB model, compared to UFS 4.1 on the 256GB and 512GB models.
And in terms of software, the Pad 8 Pro runs on HyperOS 3 on top of Android 16. With some interesting features like XiaoAi for various AI workloads, cross-device functionality with iPhones and iPads, and all the usual multitasking features like split-screen and dock that we’ve seen on HyperOS before.

A bigger battery, but the same cameras
Like performance, the Pad 8 Pro also earns a battery upgrade to a 9,200 mAh cell (versus 8,850 mAh on its predecessor). The charging speed remains the same at 67W, although it does support 22.5W reverse wired charging now.
Interestingly enough, Xiaomi hasn’t made any changes in the camera department here. It still has a 50MP f/1.8 camera at the back and a 32MP f/2.2 front camera in a horizontal layout as the Pad 7 Pro.
Rest of the features
The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro houses four speakers with Dolby Atmos audio. They even support adaptive audio to ensure a consistent listening experience depending on how far you are from the tablet.
In terms of accessories, you can pair this tablet with the Xiaomi Focus Stylus Pro and the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro Floating Keyboard. Whereas it has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and an IR blaster as well.
