The Swift series has long been among the notebook for students in Nepal because of its lightweight design and affordable price. Still, Acer made significant improvements in the performance and display last year to battle growing competition from brands like HP and Asus. In this article, we will look at all the specs and features of the updated Acer Swift 5 (2022), along with its latest price in Nepal.
Acer Swift 5 2022 Overview:
Performance and Cooling
The new “TwinAir Cooling” of the Swift 5 (2022) is a major upgrade from its predecessor, helping dissipate heat more effectively. It consists of two heat sinks and two heat pipes. Compared to the last-gen solution, the new setup improves the laptop’s thermal performance by up to 65.8%. It complements the new performance gains— brought by the hybrid architecture of Intel Alder Lake P-seres processors. You can choose between two 12th Gen CPUs: Core i5-1240P and Core-1260P, with up to 47% performance lift.
The laptop comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM clocked at 4800MHz. Unfortunately, the memory is not upgradeable since it’s soldered into the motherboard. On the bright side, you can upgrade the storage up to 2TB using user accessible PCIe Gen 4 SSD slot.
Design and Display
Another highlight of the Swift 5 (2022) is its 14″ touchscreen which now sports a modern 16:10 aspect ratio. It is the first laptop in the lineup to make the jump from the 16:9 aspect ratio. The screen is sharper with a WQXGA resolution and boasts 100% sRGB coverage. Acer has even added antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass for protection.
The glass also protects the FHD webcam backed by the in-house Temporal Noise Reduction solution. The TNR solution, along with AI Noise Reduction and PurifiedVoice, is said to improve video calling of Swift 5 (2022).
This is housed inside a metal chassis crafted from aerospace-grade aluminum chassis with a CNC machine. On top, the lid is anodized to avoid corrosion. The sides have a second layer of anodization— finished off with a golden hue.

Keyboard and Touchpad
The keyboard on the Swift 5 (2022) raises slightly to allow more air to flow into the fans. It is even engineered to improve airflow through the gaps between the keys. It is a White-backlit keyboard with a fingerprint scanner embedded in the power key. Accompanying this is a touchpad made out of OceanGlass — a glass-like plastic material recycled from ocean waste.
Battery and Connectivity
Fueling the Acer Swift 5 (2022) is a 56Wh Li-Ion battery with a claimed endurance of up to 10 hours. It supports fast charging that can fill the laptop with 4 hours of endurance in 30 minutes. There are two Thunderbolt 4 ports with USB 4 and Power Delivery charging on the right, along with an HDMI 2.1 and a USB Type-A port. To the left, it has another USB Type-A port, a Kensington lock, and an audio jack. You get Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless connectivity.
