      Review Overview

The Honor Choice T10 isn't perfect, and it doesn't pretend to be. Its performance is modest, and there are compromises here and there. But for Rs. 16,500, it brings back a kind of budget smartphone that's becoming harder to find in Nepal. So, if all you need is a phone for calls, social media, and everyday essentials, the Choice T10 is worth considering. And if you can stretch your budget, the 4GB/64GB variant is the one I'd pick.

I honestly started to think that budget smartphones were slowly disappearing from Nepal. With smartphone prices steadily rising, finding a decent phone without stretching your budget has become quite difficult. But Honor has given me a reason to rethink that.

Honor recently launched the Honor Choice T10, the first smartphone under its Choice lineup in Nepal. What caught my attention was its price tag (finding a phone at Rs. 16,000 these days? That's something).

But of course, a low price alone doesn't make a phone worth buying. So, what exactly does the Honor Choice T10 offer for the money? Where has Honor made compromises to keep the price down? And most importantly, is this actually a good budget smartphone to buy in Nepal? Let's find out in this review.

Honor Choice T10 Price in Nepal

The Honor Choice T10 comes in two memory configurations in Nepal. The base model with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage is available for NPR 16,500, while the higher-end 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant carries a price tag of NPR 19,500.

      Unboxing and Accessories

The Honor Choice T10 comes in pretty basic packaging, which is understandable considering its price. But I was pleasantly surprised to find a silicone case inside the box. It's a lightweight, standard case, although it seems to attract more fingerprints than the phone itself.

You also get a 10W charging adapter and a USB-C cable. And yes, honor has included a charger in the box! Take notes, Apple. Anyway, it's nice to see a brand including the essentials even with an affordable smartphone.

      Design and Build Quality

      • 168.8 x 78.4 x 8.8mm, Plastic back and plastic frame

      • IP52 dust and water resistance, claimed 1-metre drop resistance

      • Hybrid SIM slot, microSD support, 3.5mm headphone jack

For a budget smartphone, I actually like the design of the Honor Choice T10. It looks minimal and doesn't have any flashy elements or unnecessary patterns on the back.

The phone has a plastic back and plastic frame, but the overall build quality feels decent. It doesn't feel poorly built, and its slightly heavy feel gives it a more solid feel in the hand.

Honor Choice T10 Design and Build Quality

Another welcome addition is the IP52 dust and water resistance rating. Honor also claims the phone can withstand drops from a height of up to one meter. I tried dropping the phone during the review, and it continued working without any apparent issues afterward. Of course, that doesn't mean it's completely drop-proof, but it's reassuring to see some durability features on such an affordable device.

Storage expansion is another important consideration here, especially because the base variant comes with just 32GB of internal storage. Thankfully, the Choice T10 supports microSD cards through a hybrid SIM slot. You can either use two SIM cards or one SIM card alongside a microSD card.

There's also a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is still useful at this price. Honor has included dual microphones as well, although I haven't conducted a dedicated call-quality test to determine how much of a difference they make.

      Display and Audio

      • 6.75-inch HD+ IPS LCD

      • 720 × 1600 pixels resolution

      • Single bottom-firing speaker

Moving to the display, the Honor Choice T10 features a large 6.75-inch screen with HD+ resolution. While it's a fairly basic panel, I didn't find the screen particularly pixelated during use. The colours look decent, and the display is good enough for everyday activities like browsing, watching videos, and scrolling through social media.

      Honor Choice T10 Display

Brightness is also reasonable for indoor use. Even in fairly bright indoor environments, I could view the screen without much difficulty. Outdoor visibility should be adequate as well, although direct sunlight might be a different story.

The touch response is also decent. I didn't notice any major issues while navigating the interface or opening apps.

As for audio, the Honor Choice T10 comes with a single bottom-firing speaker. I played some music to check its output, and while it doesn't get loud enough to fill an entire room, the sound is acceptable for casual listening.

      Performance and Software

      • Unisoc T616 (12nm), octa-core processor

      • 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB configurations

      • Android Go, dedicated translation app

Performance is one area where expectations need to be realistic. The Honor Choice T10 is powered by the Unisoc T616, a 12nm octa-core chipset. It's not designed to deliver particularly fast performance, but I was curious to see how well it handled basic everyday tasks.

Opening apps like the Play Store does take a little time, and there's a noticeable delay in some app-opening and closing animations. However, I didn't find the phone excessively slow during my initial use.

One reason for that could be its software. Instead of a regular full-fledged Android experience, the Choice T10 runs Android Go, a lighter version of Android designed for entry-level hardware.

switching between apps in Honor Choice T10

While switching between apps and navigating through the interface, the phone felt reasonably responsive for its specifications. It certainly isn't fast, but the experience wasn't as frustrating as I initially expected.

It's worth mentioning that I used the 4GB RAM variant. The cheaper 3GB RAM model could feel slower, although I haven't tested that version myself.

      A surprisingly clean software experience

One thing I particularly appreciate is the clean software experience. There isn't much unnecessary bloatware, which is refreshing to see on an affordable smartphone.

Honor has also included a dedicated translation app, which appears to be one of the features it wants to highlight on this phone. Apart from that, you get the usual essential applications, including an FM radio.

      Honor Choice T10 casual use

I'm quite happy with this approach. On a phone with limited RAM and storage, having fewer unnecessary apps is definitely a welcome decision.

      Gaming performance

Given its price and entry-level hardware, the gaming experience is pretty much what you'd expect. It can handle simple titles like Subway Surfers, but don't expect much beyond that.

The Choice T10 is better suited to calling, basic apps and everyday smartphone tasks rather than heavy gaming or intensive multitasking.

      Cameras

      • 13MP single rear camera with LED flash

      • 5MP front camera

      • Up to 1080p video recording on both cameras

The Honor Choice T10 has a basic camera setup, featuring a single 13MP rear camera accompanied by an LED flash. On the front, you get a 5MP selfie camera.

I started by taking a few selfies, and the results were actually better than I expected. I particularly liked how the phone handled skin tones. Compared to some Redmi phones I've used, I found the skin-tone reproduction on the Choice T10 more pleasing.

      Honor Choice T10 Camera

The camera app also includes a portrait mode with adjustable aperture settings, allowing you to control the simulated background blur. However, the results aren't particularly impressive. The phone made my face look noticeably fairer than it actually is, and the images lacked fine details. Well, what else can you expect from a budget phone, right?

For video recording, both the rear and front cameras support Full HD 1080p resolution, which is sufficient for basic video recording and casual use.

The 5MP front camera delivers decent selfies, with skin tones being a pleasant surprise. The results are good enough for casual selfies and video calls.

      Battery and Charging

      • 5,000mAh battery

      • 10W wired charging

      • USB Type-C port

With its 5,000mAh battery, HD+ 60Hz display, and entry-level processor, you can expect the Honor Choice T10 to easily last around 1 to 1.5 days on a single charge, depending on your usage. As for charging, the included 10W charger takes around 1.5 hours to fully charge the battery. I also like that Honor has gone with a USB Type-C port instead of the older Micro-USB standard, which is much more convenient in everyday use.

      Honor Choice T10 Review: Conclusion

It feels refreshing to unbox and review a proper budget smartphone, especially after almost giving up on seeing new budget phones in the market.

The Honor Choice T10 isn't trying to compete with midrange phones, and that becomes clear from its basic HD+ display, modest performance, simple camera setup, and limited storage. However, it does get a few things right, including its minimal design, decent build quality, clean Android experience, and useful additions like a 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD card support.

If your budget is extremely tight, the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant at Rs. 16,500 is worth considering. However, I'd personally recommend spending a little extra on the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant at Rs. 19,500, especially if you plan to use it as your primary phone.

Just don't expect much in terms of gaming or demanding tasks. The Choice T10 is primarily meant for calling, using essential apps, and handling basic everyday activities. It could also be a decent option as a secondary smartphone.

Overall, the Honor Choice T10 is a reasonable budget option for anyone looking for an affordable smartphone for basic use. Sure, it has its limitations, but let's not forget that this is a phone starting at Rs. 16,500. We used to have options like the Redmi A-series and Samsung Galaxy A07 in this price segment, but finding a decent phone at this price in Nepal has become a bit of a treasure hunt. So, it's genuinely nice to see Honor bringing something to the table. The Choice T10 may not tick every box, but it gets the basics right without asking you to spend a fortune. And in today's budget smartphone market, that's something worth appreciating.
