HONOR Watch 6 Pro Unveiled with Dual-Layer OLED Display and Advanced Health Tracking!

HONOR has introduced the new Watch 6 Pro in China, bringing a more advanced smartwatch to its Watch 6 lineup. The launch comes a day after the company unveiled the Magic 9 series, including the standard Magic 9 and the flagship Magic 9 Pro Max. Building on the standard Watch 6, the Pro model brings a more premium design along with several new health and fitness features. So, let’s take a closer look at what the HONOR Watch 6 Pro has to offer, including its design, display, health features, fitness tracking, battery life, specifications, and price.

HONOR Watch 6 Pro Overview

Design and Display

The HONOR Watch 6 Pro keeps the familiar round smartwatch design but gives it a more premium build. It measures 46.3 x 46.3 x 11.6mm and comes with a stainless steel body, while selected variants feature a two-tone ceramic design. HONOR says the ceramic is sintered onto the metal at 1,400°C, giving it a more durable finish than conventional painted surfaces.

On the front, the watch features a 1.5-inch dual-layer OLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. This is one of the main upgrades over the standard Watch 6, as HONOR uses the dual-layer panel to push brightness while also keeping power consumption in check.

The display reaches 4,500 nits of global brightness, while a smaller active area can reach up to 5,500 nits. This should make the screen easier to read outdoors, particularly during activities such as running, hiking, or cycling. The display also supports touch input with wet fingers, making it more practical for workouts and swimming.

Health Tracking

Health monitoring is arguably the biggest focus of the Watch 6 Pro. The smartwatch supports 24/7 heart rate variability (HRV) tracking, giving users another metric for monitoring changes in their body's condition over time.

It also introduces a second-generation blood pressure monitoring system. HONOR has added Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) support as well, allowing the watch to work with a compatible glucose monitor and display blood sugar information on the wrist.

Another notable addition is cardiac arrest detection. The watch can monitor for signs of a stopped pulse and trigger an alert if it detects a potential cardiac arrest situation. HONOR has also designed the system to provide escalating alerts and emergency assistance features in such scenarios.

These features make the Watch 6 Pro more health-focused than the standard Watch 6, which already offers heart rate, SpO₂, sleep, stress, and blood pressure trend monitoring.

Fitness and Positioning

For fitness tracking, the Watch 6 Pro includes dedicated modes for activities such as trail running, badminton, and football. It can also be used for swimming and supports touch interaction even when the display is wet.

HONOR has equipped the watch with its Polaris positioning system, using dual-frequency positioning and a three-antenna design. The company says this setup is designed to provide more stable location tracking, including in dense urban areas where GPS signals can be more challenging.

The watch can provide up to 21 hours of continuous positioning, making it suitable for longer outdoor activities where route tracking is important.

Battery Life

The Watch 6 Pro packs a 500mAh battery, which is considerably smaller than the 980mAh cell found in the standard Watch 6. However, the Pro model uses its dual-layer OLED display and power management features to maintain reasonable endurance.

HONOR claims up to 7 days of battery life with the Always-On Display enabled. With all health-monitoring features activated, the battery can last up to 4 days. If maximum battery life is the priority, the watch can last up to 18 days in its maximum battery mode.

So, while the Pro model does not match the standard Watch 6 in terms of maximum endurance, it trades some of that battery life for a wider range of health and smartwatch features.

The HONOR Watch 6 Pro has been launched in China at a starting price of CNY 1,600. The stainless steel version is priced at CNY 1,600, while the sintered ceramic version costs CNY 1,800. HONOR has not yet announced the smartwatch’s official pricing or availability in Nepal. If this launches here, we expect the HONOR Watch 6 Pro price in Nepal to start at NPR 36,799.
