Insta360 Flow 2 Overview
Deep Track 4.0 Tracking
The Flow 2 comes with Deep Track 4.0, Insta360’s latest AI tracking system, which improves subject recognition even when the subject is briefly blocked by an obstacle. It also supports Multi-Person Tracking, making it possible to keep an entire group in the frame.
This is particularly useful for vlogging with friends, group dances, and performances, where multiple people need to stay in the shot. The Flow 2 can also track animals and other objects, while its Teleprompter feature helps creators follow a script while recording, making it easier to produce vlogs, tutorials, and other scripted content.
For easier composition, Pro Framing Grid offers nine framing options based on the golden ratio. You can simply tap the screen to choose how the subject is positioned in the frame, which is useful when switching between different vlogging environments.
The Flow 2 also supports remote control through an Apple Watch or a second smartphone. This is handy when filming yourself or the whole family, as you can set up the gimbal and control it without having to return to the phone.
Design and build
The Flow 2 is designed as an all-in-one smartphone gimbal with a foldable body. It weighs around 348 grams, while the magnetic phone clamp adds another 25 grams.
It features a built-in 207mm selfie stick and a metal tripod, allowing users to switch between handheld and hands-free shooting without carrying separate accessories. When folded, the gimbal measures 97.9 x 178.4 x 36.7mm, while its unfolded dimensions are 121.1 x 282.1 x 54mm.
For stabilization, the Flow 2 uses a 3-axis mechanical gimbal. Its pan axis has a range of -210° to 120°, while the roll axis covers -207° to 123° and the tilt axis ranges from -99° to 231°. It also has a maximum control speed of 120°/s.
The gimbal supports smartphones measuring 64–84mm in width, 6.9–10mm in thickness, and weighing between 130 and 300 grams.
NFC One-Tap Shooting and remote control
The Flow 2 supports NFC One-Tap Shooting on compatible smartphones, allowing users to skip the usual Bluetooth pairing process and directly access the shooting page in the Insta360 app.
Android users can also enable Quick Launch, which automatically opens the phone’s native camera when the gimbal is unfolded. The Flow 2 can additionally be controlled remotely through an Apple Watch or a second smartphone, which can be useful for group shots and solo content creation.
The gimbal also supports the Insta360 Mic Air, Insta360’s wireless microphone system, allowing creators to pair it with the Flow 2 for clearer audio while recording. This can be particularly useful for vlogging, interviews, and other videos where the phone’s built-in microphone may not provide the desired audio quality.
