Motorola announced the Moto X40 in China with a 165Hz display, last year. The same smartphone is now arriving globally as the Edge 40 Pro. And, thanks to Evan Blass (@evleaks), fresh new renders of the smartphone have surfaced online. So, let’s take a look into the rumored specs, features, and expected price of the Motorola Edge 40 Pro in this article.
Motorola Edge 40 Pro Rumors:
165Hz AMOLED Display
Like the Moto X40, the Edge 40 Ultra is also tipped to come with a curved 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate. If it’s a rebrand, the global version will also share other attributes such as FHD+ 10-bit OLED display, DC dimming, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection as well.
As for the design, the Edge 40 Pro is very similar to the Moto X40, with a rectangular camera module and button placement. Evan also shared a render with the smartphone submerged, indicating that it will have an IP68 rating.
Moreover, the camera setup will likely house a 50MP Omnivision OV50A primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide autofocus camera with a FOV of 117°, and a 13MP 2X telephoto unit. If the leaks are to be believed, it will also retain the 60MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
As a flagship offering, the Motorola Edge 40 Ultra will house a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. This 4nm Octa Core SoC features a prime Cortex-X3 core at 3.2GHz, two Cortex-A715 at 2.8GHz, two Cortex-A710 at 2.8GHz, and three Cortex-A510 cores at 2.0GHz. On the graphics side, there is an Adreno 740 GPU.
