With the OnePlus 15 set to launch this month, tipster Smart Pikachu has already spilled some early details about the OnePlus 15T. And yep, we’re clearly in the middle of a battery arms race right now with Chinese brands going all out.

OnePlus doesn’t plan on sitting this one out either since the 15T is rumored to bring a 7,000 mAh+ battery in a compact body. Which would totally put Samsung’s tall-boy flagship, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, to shame since it’s still expected to carry a tiny 5,000 mAh battery.

A massive battery

A big battery on a phone as small as this is the real headliner since the OnePlus 15T might pack a 7000 mAh+ battery. For context, the Galaxy S25 Ultra (review) only has 5000mAh, and that phone is way taller. And it doesn’t seem Samsung is too keen on making any battery upgrades with its successor either.

OnePlus 15T leaks by Smart Pikachu

Even in our own battery drain test, the OnePlus 13 (with its 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery) managed to outlast Apple, Samsung, and Google’s flagships pretty comfortably. All of which use traditional lithium-ion batteries.

But silicon-carbon has been a subject of slight controversy recently, since the recently launched Xiaomi 17 Pro Max managed to outlast the iPhone 17 Pro Max (review) by just 5 minutes in TechDroider’s test. Even though it has a giant 7,500 mAh battery compared to the iPhone’s 5,088 mAh unit.

Performance and everything else

Anyway, the OnePlus 15T could be powered by a flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip as well. Since it’s a flagship chipset, there is probably no game that this chip won’t run smoothly. Although its compact design could very well mean a relatively compromised cooling system versus the regular OnePlus 15.

OnePlus 13T Design and Display

Up front, the OnePlus 15T will have a 6.3-inch AMOLED display. Most likely without any curves on the sides. The exact display material hasn’t been confirmed yet, but I’d expect something similar to an 8T LTPO AMOLED from the OnePlus 13T. Aka the OnePlus 13s (review).

At least we know that the 15T will bring an ultrasonic fingerprint reader this time. Optical scanners are fine, but ultrasonic ones are faster and work better with wet fingers. OnePlus is also wrapping it in a metallic frame, while it could come with the “Plus Key” that we first saw on the 13s.

OnePlus 15T Rumors and Availability

According to leakster Smart Pikachu, the OnePlus 15T’s launch timeline is reportedly scheduled between March and April. The phone will make its debut in China first. And we expect OnePlus to rebrand it as “15s” for the global market, like its predecessor.
