OnePlus Buds Pro 4 Announced with Dynaudio-Tuned Dual Drivers and 53-Hour Battery Life!

OnePlus has quietly unveiled its new flagship wireless earbuds, the OnePlus Buds Pro 4. The latest earbuds bring several upgrades over their predecessor, including a dual-driver audio system tuned by Dynaudio, improved adaptive noise cancellation, and AI-powered features. They also support Hi-Res Audio with LHDC 5.0, Spatial Audio with head tracking, and offer up to 53 hours of battery life with the charging case. In this article, I will discuss these earbuds in detail, including the expected OnePlus Buds Pro 4 price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

OnePlus Buds Pro 4 Overview

Design and Comfort

Starting off with the design, the OnePlus Buds Pro 4 features a pebble-inspired charging case with a matte finish and metallic ring detailing. You get the option to choose between the “Titanium Shadow” and “Polar White” finishes. 

The earbuds also come with an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance, making them suitable for everyday use and light workouts. However, the charging case does not have any official dust or water resistance rating.

Moving on to comfort, OnePlus has used hybrid silicone foam ear tips designed using more than 2,800 ear canal profiles. You get four different ear tip sizes (XS, S, M, and L) to choose from, allowing you to find a comfortable fit while also creating a proper seal to reduce outside noise. 

Audio and Call Quality

Moving on to the audio department, the OnePlus Buds Pro 4 features a dual-driver setup consisting of an 11mm composite woofer and a 6mm planar tweeter. Both drivers are powered by independent DACs and tuned in collaboration with Dynaudio. According to OnePlus, this setup delivers 50% more bass driving force compared to the previous-generation Buds Pro 3, alongside clearer highs and better sound separation.

For high-quality audio streaming, the earbuds support Hi-Res Audio with the LHDC 5.0 codec, offering up to 24-bit/192kHz audio transmission at a bitrate of 1Mbps. You also get Golden Sound, which creates a personalized audio profile based on your ear canal and hearing range. Similarly, Spatial Audio with head tracking is available for a more immersive listening experience.

As for calls, the Buds Pro 4 comes with three microphones and a Voice Pickup Unit (VPU) bone-conduction sensor. This setup works alongside AI noise reduction to isolate your voice and reduce surrounding noise during calls. OnePlus also claims improved voice noise cancellation compared to the previous generation, which should come in handy when taking calls in busy places.

ANC and Connectivity

In terms of noise cancellation, the OnePlus Buds Pro 4 features Pro Adaptive Noise Cancellation with real-time environmental recognition. It automatically adjusts the noise cancellation level depending on your surroundings, whether you are travelling, working in an office, or listening to music in a crowded place. OnePlus claims that the new earbuds can reduce up to twice as much unwanted noise as the Buds Pro 3. It also claims 2.5 times better voice noise reduction than its predecessor.

On the connectivity side, the earbuds support Bluetooth 6.1 along with AAC, SBC, LHDC, and LC3 audio codecs. You also get Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair, and dual-device connectivity, allowing you to connect the earbuds to two devices simultaneously and switch between them when needed.

Additionally, the Buds Pro 4 brings several additional features, including AI Live Translation, Clear Audio Recording with Dolby audio processing, and Google Gemini voice access. It also supports Neck Health monitoring, which uses sensors to detect prolonged head tilting and send posture alerts. For gamers, the earbuds offer latency as low as 39ms when paired with select OnePlus smartphones.

However, some of these features come with device limitations. For instance, AI Live Translation requires a OnePlus device running ColorOS 17 or later, while Clear Audio Recording is supported on OnePlus 10 series and newer models.

Battery and Others

As for the battery, the OnePlus Buds Pro 4 packs a 65mAh battery in each earbud, while the charging case houses a 576mAh battery. OnePlus claims up to 13 hours of music playback from the earbuds alone with ANC turned off using the AAC codec. With the charging case, the total playback time goes up to 53 hours.

With ANC enabled, you get up to 6 hours of playback from the earbuds and 26 hours with the charging case using AAC. Meanwhile, using the LHDC codec reduces the playback time to 5.5 hours on the earbuds and 22 hours with the case.

For charging, the earbuds take around 55 minutes to charge, while charging both the earbuds and case takes approximately 65 minutes. You also get fast charging, where a 10-minute charge provides up to 14 hours of music playback when using the charging case. Additionally, the case supports wireless charging and reverse wireless charging through compatible OnePlus smartphones.

OnePlus Buds Pro 4 Price in Nepal and Availability

OnePlus has not officially announced the pricing and availability details of the Buds Pro 4 yet. However, considering the Oppo Enco X4's EUR 219 European price, the OnePlus Buds Pro 4 could carry a similar price tag. If it launches in Nepal, we expect the OnePlus Buds Pro 4 price in Nepal to be somewhere around NPR 42,999 to NPR 45,999.
