Apple Watch Series 10 Price in Nepal [Updated]

Apple in its latest launch event announced its next generation of products including its Watch Series 10. It was not dubbed “Watch X” as some rumors suggested. And it is now officially available in Nepal. Anyway, let’s take a deeper look at the Apple Watch Series 10 and also discuss its official price in Nepal.

Apple Watch Series 10 Overview

Design and Display

The Apple Watch Series 10 looks basically the same as its predecessors having the same design blueprint. However, what Apple has done is, that they cut down its size, making it the thinnest Apple Watch so far. It comes in two different builds, the first being the standard aluminium — available in Jet Black, Rose Gold, and Silver.

The other choice is what is turning out to be metal prime in recent times i.e. Titanium. It also comes in three shades: Slate, Gold, and Natural. The watch can withstand outdoor weather pretty easily as it is IP6X and 5ATM rated for dust and water resistance.

Apple Watch Series 10 thickness

The Apple Watch Series 10 ships in two sizes: 42mm and 46mm. This number is derived by measuring the longer side of the watch. That being said, the wearable is available in two display sizes too. The smaller one stretches 374 x 446 pixels while the larger one measures 416 x 496 pixels.

Also, you’re looking at a wide-angle OLED panel here for better visibility from extreme angles, which is the first time for an Apple Watch. Furthermore, the screen can go up to 2,000 nits and drop as low as 1 nit brightness. Moreover, the watch wears a protective glass on top, which is Ion-X for aluminum casing, and Sapphire for titanium.

Performance and Features

One of the primary reasons for the slimmer build of the Apple Watch 10 series is the new S10 SiP. It consists of a 64-bit dual-core processor, quad-core neural engine, and 64GB storage. The combination of all these helps the watch perform intelligent features like double-tap gestures, on-device Siri, dictation, automatic workout detection, as well as safety features like Crash/Fall Detection. In the meantime, it boots on watchOS 11 which offers new tricks of its own like Smart Stack, redesigned Photo face, and Translate app.

Apple Watch Series 10 Sleep Apnea

The key highlight of Apple Watch Series 10 is the ability to detect Sleep Apnea, wherein breathing stops repeatedly during sleep and can potentially be series. Likewise, the next feature that Apple introduced is depth and temperature sensing ability during water activity. This offers users useful insight during activities like snorkeling.

Additionally, the watch has a cellular variant as well, which can provide you with enough functionality that it won’t matter if you forget your phone at home.

It even has Voice Isolation for calling. Even with all this, the watch can last you up to 18 hours on normal usage. Meanwhile, it can go up to 36 hours on low power mode. After the charge has depleted it can reach up to 80% charge in just 30 minutes making it the fastest charging Apple Watch.

Best Mobile Phone in Nepal 2025, Top Picks & Buying Guide

0

Which are the best phones in 2025? And what factors should you consider before making a purchase? Here in this article, you’ll find all the useful info and our best phone picks for 2025. Before heading to our top picks and buying guides, let’s have a glance at the history, trends, and types of smartphones in general.

Best Phone in Nepal 2025 Overview

History of Mobile Phones

Mobile phones have been a boon for the present-day world. But where did it begin from? If we turn some pages back in history, the first mobile phone (prototype) was demonstrated by Martin Cooper of Motorola back in 1973. It weighed around 2 kg. Meanwhile, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone in 1979 became the first company to launch the first commercial automated cellular network analog (1G). The technology continued to spread across Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Meanwhile, the year of 1983 stood as a prominent year with DynaTAC 8000x available commercially as the first handheld mobile phone. Then in 1991, the 2G network arrived in Finland on the GSM standard. Since then, the number of mobile phone users has gone uphill with further technological advancements.

What is a Smartphone?

A smartphone is basically a mobile phone with smart functionalities. In the initial days, mobile phones were limited to making calls and texting. With the ever-changing times, mobile phones have gotten really smart. The ability to surf the internet, click photos, take video calls, send documents and such are super easy tasks for a modern-day mobile phone, which is popularly known as a smartphone. From keypad phones to QWERTY keyboard phones to touch screen phones to a full-fledged smartphone, the trend has been now all about smartphones.

Besides capable hardware like a processor, camera, display, and battery, software plays an important role for a smartphone. In the present day, the smartphone market is dominated by Android and iOS software.

The Trend of Smartphones in Nepal

Smartphones have become more or less a basic need for humans. In the early 2000s,  the mobile phone market was all about keypad phones. Which rose to pin touch phones in the mid-2000s and then, the touch smartphones after 2010.

At the present time, mobile phone access has reached 73.2% of the general public in Nepal, as per the full report of the National Census of 2022. The report also mentions that 73% of the population uses a smartphone. The age-old landline telephone is now owned by 4.5% only. This shows how the market has been all about smartphones these days.

Besides taking a simple phone call, these modern-day phones offer the world on your screen, technically. You just need an internet connection and a smartphone, you can do a whole lot of things. Plus, social media, esports gaming, friends circle, and other factors have increased the demand for smartphones by a big margin in recent years.

Things to know before buying a smartphone

SoC/ Processor on smartphones

We already know that smartphones can be entry-level, midrange, premium midrange, and flagship. And the type of System on Chip is the key factor in segregating those rankings. As simple as that, entry-level phones carry an entry-level chip and it goes so on. In the Android world, we can witness three major chipsets– Snapdragon, Mediatek, and Exynos. The former two are the most popular ones and can be found across all major Android smartphone brands.

Meanwhile, the Exynos chip is Samsung’s in-house product, so it is obviously found in Samsung phones.

Smartphone Processors

Just a few years ago, Snapdragon was the king in the midrange and flagship arena but the Taiwanese chip maker, Mediatek has become extremely popular, beating the American company, in the midrange segment. Also in the flagship section, Mediatek’s popularity is rising with the latest Mediatek Dimensity 9000 Series.

And for the iPhones, it is the Apple A-Series Bionic chips. These chips are known to be more optimized and powerful than their Qualcomm and Mediatek counterparts. But both competitors are also now slowly catching up with the competition against Apple.

How to choose the right processor

Lying at the core of a smartphone is a processor. It provides all the computing power and juice for your device. So, choosing the right chipset is also very important. If you are a techie like me, sorting the best among the bunch is never a hassle. But if you are a newbie or someone who’s unaware of smartphone chipsets, fear not, you can always take the help of Google.

  • First up, check the processor of the phone you are buying.
  • Then, you can check the Antutu and Geekbench benchmark scores of the chip on the web.
  • The higher the CPU and GPU score, the better the processor is.
  • On the same side, you can compare other chipsets in the range, in this way, you can know the best-performing chip for the price.

LCD or AMOLED panel?

Smartphones in general use two types of display: LCD and AMOLED. Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) is found usually in the budget range of devices and also in the midrange segment. On the other hand, Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (AMOLED) panels are found in the midrange, premium midrange, and flagship smartphones, due to their superior picture quality, contrast, and deeper blacks.

So, if you are purchasing a smartphone, always look out for the AMOLED options for a much better display experience. If budget is your constraint, you can also opt for an LCD panel but make sure, it is an IPS LCD, which has better viewing angles than the subpar TFT LCD displays with rubbish viewing angles.

60Hz or 120Hz display?

In recent years, 120Hz fast-motion rate displays have become extremely common. It provides a superfluid scrolling experience than a 60Hz panel, but it consumes a bit more battery. But once you have used a 120Hz panel, there is no way going back to a 60Hz one, because, the fun and overall fluidity will never be the same on a static 60Hz panel.

So, despite the 120Hz consumes more battery, always opt for a smartphone with a 120Hz or at least 90Hz display. You can always switch to the 60Hz motion rate on those smartphones, anyway.

How much RAM should you get?

Smartphones currently come with 4GB, 6GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 24GB RAM. Some might also come with 2GB or 3GB of RAM in the entry-level segment. And, choosing the appropriate amount of RAM comes to your usage habits and needs. If you are a basic user, who just uses the phone casually for social media, YouTube, and such, 4GB RAM should be enough for a very basic user.

But if you do multitasking and some gaming as well, 6GB RAM is at least needed while 8GB becomes the norm for the midrange phones. Meanwhile, for flagship devices, 12/16GB RAM is recommended.

The virtual RAM gimmick…

The primary jargon in a local market for selling a smartphone is RAM. But phone companies are marketing their phones with 24GB* RAM, 16*GB RAM, and so on. But, you should always notice the asterisk symbol right there. It is not the actual RAM of the phone, but a combined one with virtual RAM included. For example, the phone has 8GB of physical RAM while the other 8GB is an extended RAM. Virtual RAM is not that useful, and I’d call it more of a gimmick.

Do not fall for MegaPixels trap

While buying a new mobile phone, a bigger megapixel camera might look enticing. But in the actual world, megapixels do not matter that much. A phone might have a 108MP camera but the usual shots are always taken in a pixel-binned 12MP format. You also get a dedicated 108MP or high-res mode, but the results are not drastically different. So, megapixels should not be a major factor here.

So, instead of looking for higher megapixels, look for sensor, ISP, and phone’s overall processing for photos. Sometimes despite having capable hardware, bad processing can ruin the fun. That’s why a 12MP camera can get you better photos than a 108MP one if the software and hardware processing are done right.

OIS in cameras

Another factor you have to look for in a smartphone camera is Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Phones having OIS can physically move the camera sensor to minimize shakes and jitters. As a result, you can get good stills. Meanwhile in the videos section, having OIS becomes a major perk, resulting in smooth and stable shots. But OIS should be enabled by smartphone manufacturers in this section.

If the smartphone doesn’t have OIS, at least, look for Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) which has nothing to do with photos, but it can provide a decent quality of stabilization for videos.

Top Smartphone brands in Nepal

The Nepalese smartphone market is dominated by three players— Xiaomi, Samsung, and Vivo. The top-dog Xiaomi is arguably the most popular in the market, thanks to its Redmi Note and Redmi Number Series phones. Offering a good overall valued spec at competitive pricing has been the significant reason for the popularity of Xiaomi/Redmi phones in Nepal.

Smartphone Brands in Nepal

Likewise, Samsung is a veteran player in the smartphone world. Its brand name and trust carry quite a big value for its user base in Nepal. Especially, the midrange and flagship Galaxy lineup of phones are widely popular here. In the meantime, Vivo has also grown with its Y and V series of smartphones in recent days.

Besides these brands, Oppo, OnePlus, Honor, Realme, and Tecno also have a good amount of presence and popularity in the market.

Why buy a new phone or a second-hand phone?

A new phone is for someone who’s always looking for the latest new tech and stuff. New phones come equipped with the latest processors, software, camera, and design. Plus, the feeling of getting something new is always refreshing, isn’t it?

But, buying a second phone cannot be ruled out too. You can get flagship phones from the last generation at cheaper prices, which also makes a great deal. In fact, many people opt to buy second hand iPhone too. So basically, it all comes down to your choice and preferences.

Where to buy smartphones at the best price in Nepal?

As always, you should get a smartphone from authorized stores and genuine sellers like Hukut. It will reflect a lot on after-sales support and genuineness. However, you can also buy phones at a cheaper price rate through gray channels but do note, that there might be MDMS compatibility issues in the near future and you’ll miss out on after-sales support and warranty. Meanwhile, you can browse through a plethora of smartphones on Gadgetbyte with their buying links, to make it easy. Always make sure of the product and buying place, before making a purchase.

How much to spend on a smartphone in Nepal?

Well, the answer depends on your budget and needs. If you are a very basic user or want to buy a smartphone for your parents for the sake of a smartphone experience, you can opt for the budget segment. But if you are someone who wants a decent camera and usage experience, the midrange segment is where you should go. You can find dozens of options here. So, make sure to compare your choices and choose the best that suits your needs and budget. Or, you can stretch your budget for a premium midrange smartphone or even a flagship phone. It all comes down to your preference, choice, and budget.

1. Redmi 13 4G

Redmi 13 4G - Ocean Blue

The newly launched Redmi 13 4G takes the second spot on our list of best phones under NPR 20000 in Nepal. It’s the successor to the Redmi 12 (which also makes a cameo on our list), and it brings a couple of upgrades here and there. Although there are some disappointing downgrades too.

Most notably in terms of cameras because while Xiaomi has swapped that 50MP main camera for a 108MP one here, the Redmi 13 4G gets rid of the useful ultrawide shooter for some reason. But when we tested them both, we found that the new 108MP sensor performs significantly better. Whereas it now has a 13MP selfie camera instead of an 8MP one as well.

HyperOS ftw

Getting to performance, the Redmi 13 4G enjoys MediaTek’s new “Helio G91 Ultra” chip. Having said that, this is nothing but a rebranded Helio G88 found on the Redmi 12. The good news, at least, is that it boots on Android 14-based HyperOS right out of the box.

Other than all this, the Redmi 13 4G has an identical 6.79-inch IPS display with a 90Hz refresh rate. This one is also protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass, but Xiaomi hasn’t clarified exactly which generation of Gorilla Glass has been used here. Then there are a few upgrades in terms of both battery capacity and charging speed as well.

Redmi 13 4G Specifications:

  • Display: 6.79-inch IPS LCD screen, FHD+, 90Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra 4G (12nm mobile platform)

Initially, the phone was launched at a higher price tag of NPR 53,999 but OnePlus Nepal has now provided a massive price drop. Not only the price but also the specs are very appealing. We have the Snapdragon 782G chipset which offers a tri-cluster architecture with prime Cortex-A78 cores at 2.7GHz, three Cortex-A78 cores at 2.4GHz, and four power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8GHz. Which is way better than the Helio G99 or even the Snapdragon 6s Gen 1 SoC. On top of that, you get 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

The optics side is also pretty sorted with a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor which takes super decent pictures. Besides that, the 8MP Ultrawide camera is also good while the 2MP macro lens is something, we barely use on a daily basis. Moreover, you get a 5000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. OnePlus also ships a compatible charger in the box.

Overall, the Nord CE 3 5G is a phone to beat at the 37K tag with a gorgeous 120Hz 6.7-inch AMOLED panel, a powerful chip, and really good specs.

3. Honor 200 Pro

Honor 200 Pro

Then, we have the Honor 200 Pro taking the first spot on our best premium midrange phones in Nepal. And this is most suitable for those who value a good camera performance above everything else. The design is also premium-looking here on both devices.  Although we would’ve liked it more if Honor had managed to provide some sort of IP rating and Gorilla Glass protection on the vanilla version. While the Pro version enjoys an IP65 rating at least.

So is its display. You’re looking at a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and curves on both sides. But the biggest highlight of this display is definitely its incredible 3,840Hz PWM dimming. That means if you’re someone who gets headaches, nausea, and the like when using a phone at low brightness levels, that’s not gonna be a problem here. Plus, you get all sorts of attributes such as a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, Low Blue Light certifications, HDR 10+ support, and so on!

Best cameras in the game

The key highlight of the Honor 200 Pro is none other than its cameras. It’s got a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary sensor which takes good images, almost similar to its expensive Honor 200 Pro sibling. And the 2.5X telephoto lens combined with the Harcourt Studio Paris filter provides you with some stellar portraits. Meanwhile, the 12MP ultrawide is also decent enough for those wider FoV imageries. It also doubles as a macro camera.

As for performance, meanwhile, the Honor 200 Pro goes for the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip for flagship level performance and complemented it with plenty of RAM and storage. So you’ll have absolutely no problem with day-to-day work. The memory side of things leaves no room for complaint, this is definitely the most powerful processor for the price.

Honor 200 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.7” AMOLED Panel, 120Hz refresh rate, 4,000 nits peak brightness, 435 PPI pixel density, 1.07 billion color depth, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 3,840Hz PWM dimming

On the camera front, the OnePlus 13 has received notable improvements. The 3X periscope lens, now with a Sony sensor, offers impressive results for portraits and zoom shots. 1. Samsung Galaxy S25/ S25 Plus

Galaxy s25

The Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus offer strong value under 1.5 Lakh rupees, with impressive performance, a fantastic display, and excellent battery life. They provide a great balance of features that make them worth the premium over the standard S25, though the price still remains high. The design, while refined and classic, feels a bit stale compared to rivals, and a refresh would be appreciated. Despite this, the color options this year are a nice touch, and the phones remain solid in terms of looks.

The display is one of the strongest features, offering vibrant colors and brightness that work well even in bright sunlight. It’s one of the best screens you’ll find on any phone, though the fingerprint scanner could be more responsive. The software is where the S25 series falters slightly—while One UI has been improved, the increasing bloatware and missing features detract from the experience. The camera, while good, doesn’t compete with others in the market that have better sensors and more advanced features, indicating the need for an Ultra-level upgrade in the future.

In terms of performance, the Galaxy S25 Plus is hard to beat, boasting the latest Snapdragon chipset, and it’s the fastest phone in benchmark tests. Real-world differences, however, may not be as noticeable. The battery life is solid, but competitors like the OnePlus 13 offer better endurance and faster charging, which puts Samsung at a disadvantage. Overall, while the S25 Plus is an excellent device, it’s clear that Samsung needs to catch up in some areas to remain competitive.

Samsung Galaxy S25 / S25+ Specifications

  • Display: 6.2-inch/ 6.7-inch 1440p+ LTPO OLED, 1-120Hz refresh rate

Thanks to Vivo’s long-standing collaboration with Zeiss, the camera shines, particularly in portrait mode. The 50MP primary lens delivers excellent dynamic range, even in challenging conditions, and handles low-light shots with impressive clarity.

While the ultrawide camera hasn’t seen improvements from the previous model, the rest of the camera system makes up for it. Vivo’s videography has also improved, offering 4K 60fps on all cameras, including the front-facing 32MP sensor. The phone can shoot 10-bit Log videos, 4K 120fps slow-motion videos, and portrait videos, making it a versatile tool for any photographer or content creator. If you’re into smartphone photography, the Vivo X200 Pro’s camera performance rivals flagship models from Apple and Samsung, especially in portrait and macro shots.

Beyond the camera, the X200 Pro offers great build quality with IP68 and IP69 ratings, ensuring durability against water and dust. It features a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display with vibrant colors and a 120Hz refresh rate, making for a smooth user experience. 2. iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max

Securing the second position on our roster of premier smartphones in Nepal are Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. If you’re seeking the epitome of Apple’s smartphone prowess, these two models are the ones to opt for. However, while the distinction between Apple’s “Pro” and “Pro Max” iPhones has traditionally revolved around their physical dimensions and battery longevity, this time around, opting for the iPhone 16 Pro Max might be the choice if you’re in pursuit of nothing short of the absolute best with a super large display and very good battery life.

iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max - Natural Titanium

This year, the 5X telephoto lens is present on the Pro variant as well, so, you are not missing much, if you opt for the Pro model. So these siblings are portrait photography ready, with their 120mm lens facilitating the capture of remarkable portraits with superior subject clarity, background defocus, and overall image quality.

Nevertheless, it’s important to acknowledge the challenges inherent in capturing 5x portraits, as it often requires maintaining a considerable distance from the subject. Beyond this, the new 48MP ultra-wide camera clicks marginally better photos and macros. Additionally, they excel in video recording capabilities, solidifying their position as the top choice for smartphone videography. And the 4K 120fps option is a cherry on top, this year.

Titanium Frame and Extra Buttons

The iPhone 16 Pro Series brings in the Titanium frame build, ensuring sturdiness, this year as well.  is undoubtedly their titanium frame. What’s new this time is a dedicated camera button on the right side. It allows you to change color tone, zoom, and aperture but in our tests, this button felt like more of a gimmick. The onscreen controls are far easier to work with. In particular, we ended up getting blurry and not-so-sharp outputs as the phone tends to shake while clicking the button. Besides this, the Action button is the same as last year.

In terms of performance, the iPhone 16 Pro models are powered by the brand-new A18 Pro processor. It is complemented by a larger graphite sheet and it works fantastically with the phone staying cooler than the last gen iPhone 15 Pro Max.

With features ranging from hardware ray tracing to a MetalFX Upscaling method reminiscent of DLSS, this “Pro” chip lives up to its name. It’s not just about gaming prowess either; these devices also embrace USB-C connectivity and boast impressive battery life.

This guy comes with a 180MP periscope zoom lens, a 50MP main camera with variable aperture, and more. And it is available for a discounted price in Nepal. Without further ado, let’s get straight into the specs, features, and latest price of the Honor Magic 6 Pro in Nepal.

Honor Magic 6 Pro Overview:

180MP Periscope Lens

Let’s start with the elephant in the room. The Honor Magic 6 Pro rocks a 180MP periscope camera, the highest resolution yet on a mobile smartphone for a zoom lens. This optically stabilized lens can optically zoom up to 2.5X and up to 100X digitally. Likewise, the main camera is a 50MP ultra-dynamic shooter with a variable aperture of f/1.4 to f/2.0 for those photo enthusiasts. Last but not least is a 50MP ultrawide lens.

Honor Magic 6 Pro Camera

Talking of the videography aspects, there is no 8K recording though. The Magic 6 Pro can shoot up to 4K at 60fps. Upfront, there is a 50MP selfie snapper and a 3D ToF lens for 3D face scanning.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

Like its Magic 6 sibling, the Pro variant also gets the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This 4nm fabbed silicon from Qualcomm features a prime Cortex-X4 core clocking at 3.3GHz, five Cortex-A720 cores at 3.2GHz, and two A520 cores running at 2.3GHz frequency. The circular camera module is also identically engraved in a metal frame. Even the color options are the same: Qilian Snow, Sea Lake Green, Wheat Wave Green, Flowing Cloud Purple, and Velvet Black. In terms of ingress protection, the device secures an IP68 rating.

Honor Magic 6 Pro Design and Display

As for the display, there is a 6.80-inch AMOLED panel with an FHD+ resolution (2800 x 1280 pixels). This 120Hz screen supports LTPO tech for dynamically switching between 1Hz to 120Hz. Xiaomi 15 Ultra launched in Nepal with Leica cameras and Snapdragon 8 Elite

0

Xiaomi has officially introduced the Xiaomi 15 Ultra in Nepal. It is the ultimate flagship from the company featuring a Leica quad-camera system and the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The device brings a 200MP Telephoto camera, high-resolution display, a powerful battery, and advanced AI capabilities. So lets learn everything about the latest Xiaomi 15 Ultra, including its official price in Nepal and pre-booking offers.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra Overview

Leica Quad-Camera System

The Ultra series remains heavily focused on photography, even more so than Samsung and Apple’s flagships. It retains the large circular quad-camera module inspired by Leica cameras and is available in three versions: two-tone silver and black, along with plain black and white models.

The biggest upgrade in the camera system is a 200MP periscope camera with 4.3x zoom, offering improved low-light performance through a larger sensor, faster aperture, and higher resolution. Xiaomi refers to the phone as “Night God” to highlight its low-light photography capabilities. The other three cameras are 50MP each, with minor adjustments from the 14 Ultra. Notably, the main camera now has a fixed f/1.63 aperture, replacing the variable aperture from the previous model.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra Design and Display

Additionally, the third-generation Photography Kit, an optional accessory, includes a case and a camera grip. It features a new red finish, a larger 2,000mAh battery that doubles as a power bank, and retains the same controls: shutter button, video button, zoom lever, and exposure dial.

Display and Design

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra continues to boast a sturdy build with the profound camera module. The quad curved aluminum frame adds more to ergonomics for a proper flagship hands-on feel. Likewise, it features a 6.73-inch WQHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 3200 nits. It supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The design incorporates Xiaomi’s Guardian Structure with Gorilla Glass 7i protection, an aerospace-graded glass fiber back plate.  and IP68 water and dust resistance.

Performance and Software

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Compared to its predecessor, the 8 Elite has a significant performance margin. However, if you do not care about playing high-performance requiring games, the performance might just even be an overkill. Meanwhile, it runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0, based on Android 15. The device includes a 3D dual-channel cooling system.

Snapdragon 8 Elite

In addition, Xiaomi has bought various AI features in its system. Xiaomi’s HyperAI features include a Creative Assistant and a Productivity Assistant. The Creative Assistant enables object removal, sky and reflection enhancement, blur reduction, and AI-driven image and video editing. The Productivity Assistant provides context recognition for tasks such as text, translation, and search, along with voice recognition for transcription and instant translation. It utilizes Google Gemini Nano 2 and Google Circle-to-Search for functionality.

Battery and Charging

It houses a 5410mAh battery with support for 90W wired and 80W wireless charging. It also offers 18W reverse wireless charging. Xiaomi claims the battery retains 80% capacity after four years of use. The phone supports dual SIM, Bluetooth 6.0, WiFi 7, NFC, and USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1.

Acer is entering the smartphone world this March 25!

When we hear the names Asus and Lenovo, the first thing that usually comes to mind is their range of laptops. However, these companies are into manufacturing smartphones as well. Giving this trend a continuity, Acer (a well-known laptop brand) is soon joining the world of smartphones. Yes, Acer is launching a phone! Let’s get into the depth of this news.

Here’s everything we know

Even though we know Acer is launching a phone, we are still unaware of the specifications it will carry. But one thing for sure is this new device will be launched this March 25 in India. We got to know this because the company has set up a promotional page on Amazon.in, featuring the tagline “The Next Horizon,”. However, the teaser offers no clues about the name or the number of smartphones that Acer plans to unveil during the event.

Partnership with Indkal

This does not come all of a sudden. Back in July 2024, Indkal Technologies announced a partnership with Acer to bring Acer-branded smartphones to India. Initially, the phone was planned for a 2024 release, but due to some reasons, the idea got rescheduled. After a year, the company is finally preparing to make its official announcement in the coming weeks. Moreover, the same partnership with Indkal Technologies also suggests that this handset from Acer will be priced between INR 15,000 and INR 50,000. This means that the company is targeting both the budget and premium midrange lineups.

Acer’s Acerpure brand

Back in January, two models of Acer branded smartphones, named Acerone Liquid S162E4 and Acerone Liquid S272E4, were listed on Acer India’s official website under the Acerpure brand.

Acerpure
Image: Acerpure

The listings mention features like a MediaTek Helio P35 processor, a 5,000mAh battery, an HD+ display, up to a 20MP camera, 4G support, and Android 14. There are no clues that tell us that this is the phone launching on March 25, but maybe….maybe it is. Looks like we will have to wait a few more days to know the real story.

Lenovo LOQ 15 Review (2024):

First, let me quickly clear some doubts you might have, although this LOQ has a 12th gen Intel processor, it’s a 2024 unit, alright! Lenovo actually announced three different ‘Intel’ models as a part of their 2024 lineup of the LOQ 15: 15IRX9, 15IAX9I, 15IAX9. The first one ships with newer 13th and 14th gen Intel processors while the latter two get older 12th gen chips. You are better off skipping the 15IAX9I entirely since it has a weak Intel Arc A530M GPU which leaves you with either the 15IRX9 or 15IAX9. Both of them are good choices, but the former gives you more choices in terms of configuration.

Enough of all that, all you needed to know from that confusing looking paragraph is that this is indeed a 2024 machine despite having an old processor.

Design and Build

  • 1359.86 x 258.7 x 21.9-23.9 mm, 2.38 kg
  • PC-ABS material (top, bottom)

In terms of design, Lenovo has gone ahead and smoothened out the kinks of the 2023 edition. The toy-esque blue plastic at the back is gone, now replaced by a subtler grey panel. The design is more streamlined, camouflages in professional settings easier, and sticks out less.

Lenovo LOQ 15 2024 i5 12450HX RTX 4050 Review - Design 1

Besides that change, the exhaust is at the back now with a few ports on the right side and none on the left at all. The overall build is still solid with no deck flex at all while the screen can wobble a bit at times.

Display

  • 15.6″ anti-glare non-touch FHD IPS panel
  • 144Hz refresh rate, 100% sRGB gamut
  • G-SYNC, FreeSync, Advanced Optimus, MUX Switch

Moving on to the display, the LOQ has a relatively speedy 144Hz IPS screen that sports your typical 1920x1080p resolution. Unfortunately, you cannot go for a faster or higher res unit for this particular model, but the paper numbers are quite alright (actually pretty sweet) for a budget gamer.

Lenovo LOQ 15 2024 i5 12450HX RTX 4050 Review - Display 1

When I tested the panel, I got a pretty nice 99% of the sRGB gamut, with good Gamma, and satisfactory brightness levels! That’s a rare find in this segment (1-1.2 lakh NPR) so it definitely puts the LOQ into spotlight among a sea of washed-out screens!

The bezels are a bit thick-ish towards the bottom and it kinda wobbles a bit from time to time, but I’d be judging it very harshly if I said the display was anything other than excellent for gaming at this price!

LOQ 15 2024 Review - Display Color Coverage and Brightness

Keyboard

  • Full-size keys with Numpad
  • Single zone backlighting (white)

Now, let me tell you about a MAJOR gripe I have with my LOQ 15 and it’s this keyboard: its layout to be precise. You see, in Nepal, the LOQ 15IAX9 is generally only available with a UK key-layout which means jumbled up symbols and split keys.

Lenovo LOQ 15 2024 i5 12450HX RTX 4050 Review - Key Layout

I had a bad bad time missing my Shifts and Enters when cranking up articles for the first time, so I came up with this simple 3 step solution:

  1. Set your ‘Preferred Language’ to English (United States) (to get the US layout)
  2. Install Microsoft PowerToys (to remap keys)
  3. Remap your (| \)-looking key to Shift and (~ #)-looking key to Enter!

Voila! Now, you can type like you normally do but there’s a slight caveat. You see touch typers like me can type without looking down for individual keys, so what’s actually printed there doesn’t bother me. But if you’re someone who likes to hunt and peck, then using a US layout for a UK keyboard might get frustrating. Try finding ‘@’ for your next email and you’ll soon realise that maybe getting used to a new layout isn’t that bad.

With all that out of the way, the keys themselves are pretty nice on the LOQ with good feedback and spacing. I would rank them a tad higher than the Nitro Vs and Victuses of the world, but Lenovo could still improve in the fit and feel department. Oh, and there’s a white backlight too alongside a dedicated numpad but that’s expected. Maybe some RGB flair would help elevate it to the next level.

Trackpad

  • Plastic trackpad with integrated left/right keys

I actually quite liked the trackpad on the LOQ 2024. Lenovo’s following ‘if it’s not broke, don’t fix it’ mantra here, so pretty much last year’s trackpad in a new chassis. It’s centered to the spacebar so there’s more room for those full-sized arrow keys on the right and just out of the way to prevent accidental touches. Pretty good for browsing around the internet or navigating the OS, but it’s not glass topped or anything and the clicks are also just a-okay!.

Speakers and Webcam

  • 2x 2W speakers (downfiring), Nahimic Gaming Audio
  • HD (720p) camera, Electronic privacy shutter

Speakers and webcam are definitely not the strong suit of the LOQ 15. The down-firing set of stereo speakers aren’t very loud or full but they’ll get you through your Youtube needs just fine. The HD webcam spews dark and noisy images, but getting through your occasional zoom meetings won’t be a problem as well. I just wished these compromises didn’t exist at all, but they are not deal breakers when I am looking for an affordable PC to game on.

Performance

  • Intel Core i5-12450HX CPU (55-157W base power)
  • NVIDIA RTX 4050 (105W, 6GB GDDR6 VRAM)
  • 24GB DDR5-4800 RAM, 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD

So, let’s get to the meaty part! The PERFORMANCE on the LOQ 15.

As you can see, the 12450HX is a ’12th’ gen Intel processor, an old soul as they say, but it’s still a relatively apt performer in 2025!

I ran some Geekbench and Cinebench CPU benchmarks and here’s how it stacks up against the competition. Not topping the charts for sure, but the multiple cores and high power intake do help keep things competitive.

LOQ 15 (i5 12450hx, rtx 4050) Review -Geekbench 6 CPU comparision

But the GPU is where this LOQ really shines! For context, I have also added gaming results from a cheaper gaming laptop with RTX 3050 graphics that retails for around 1 lakh rupees just to show you how much more you’re actually getting paying a little extra!

So, let’s start strong with Forza Horizon 5 and Red Dead Redemption II, where I was getting good average FPS numbers with stable 1% lows. Note that I played Forza on the “Extreme” preset for comparison reasons, but dialing it back down to ‘High’ will give you well above 60FPS for a super smooth gameplay. In Red Dead Redemption II with all the settings on ‘High’, the average FPS hovered around ~85ish with a 1% low of 66 FPS. There were barely any noticeable frame drops and I didn’t notice the LOQ getting uncomfortably hot or anything.

Since the 12450HX is not the strongest, performance in Counter Strike 2 left a little to be desired, but I’d recommend going for ‘Low’ settings in First-Person-Shooters anyway, and with that you are probably looking around that ~150FPS mark. Finally in Cyberpunk 2077 with vanilla settings (no RT, no Upscaling), the average FPS shot up to the 90s with a 1% low of over 40 FPS.

Basically, it’s SUPER WORTH IT to spend that extra 10-15k rupees to get this 4050 LOQ over a 3050 gaming laptop as you’ll get much better FPS numbers as you can see in the charts above. But, there’s another reason too. FRAME GEN!

If you’re unfamiliar, this tech is exclusive to NVIDIA’s 40 series and above and generates AI frames in between rendered ones to boost overall FPS numbers. With this in the field, the difference between the two laptops is night and day!

Memory

One of the other reasons I liked this particular configuration so much is because of the generous amount of memory it offers. There are dual 12 gig DDR5-4800 sticks inside for a total of 24GB of system RAM while the 512GB NVME SSD is also wicked fast for the price.

I mean just look at the read speed on this thing, no wonder loading applications and games feel like a breeze.

Moreover, there’s an empty M.2 slot for a 2280 SSD so you could easily expand the storage as your game library grows in the future.

Not for just Gamers

Given the color accurate screen, powerful processors, and affordable asking price, this LOQ makes a good proposition to more than just COD fans. I’d say it’s a damn good option if you want an entry level editing rig or want to dip toes in 3D animation. Even for students that need to run simulations or crank up a render in AutoCAD, this LOQ is good for all of it. The fans don’t ramp up unless they need to and I never had a problem with excessive heating as well.

Battery

  • 60 Watt-hour Li-Po battery
  • 170W AC power adapter

Having such powerful components inside drains the battery quite a lot in the default configuration. But I got a workable 5+ hours by disabling the dGPU, setting refresh rate to 60Hz, and lowering the brightness to 50%. In our continuous video playback test, this LOQ lasted around 8 hours in total. So, overall not as good as some Ryzen equipped gaming laptops with larger batteries, but still decent enough to use as a university or work computer. On purchase, you might get either a smaller 135W adapter or a 175W but try to negotiate with the seller to get the higher rated one as 135W just won’t cut it for this particular configuration.

Lenovo LOQ 15 Review (2024): Conclusion

Overall, the i5-12450HX, RTX 4050 equipped LOQ is the best laptop you can get at NPR 114,999 today. It’s got a powerful processor, a fast and accurate screen, and optimized thermals. While the speakers and webcam might not be particularly impressive, the value for money is there for anyone seeking their next college computer (looking at you engineering undergrads) or an affordable gaming rig!

Samsung’s Project Moohan will give a tough time to Vision Pro

Apple Vision Pro was definitely a groundbreaking innovation, I would say. With that, it was pretty obvious that Samsung would have to come up with something even better to compete. Enter Project Moohan, Samsung’s mixed reality headset. According to the latest leaks, this new headset might outdo Apple’s Vision Pro, which already boasts an impressive 2MP per eye display. Exciting, right? Let’s break it down.

Project Moohan Overview

We were expecting Samsung to reveal something about Project Moohan at MWC 2025; sadly, the company said nothing. But there are a few things we know about this project recently.

What’s the fuss about?

What sets Samsung apart from everyone is that the Project Moohan will come with a 1.35-inch micro-OLED display boasting a staggering 3,800 pixels per inch resolution. That’s a major leap compared to Vision Pro’s 2MP per eye. The screen specs seem pretty close to Sony’s SRH-S1, which has a 3,552 x 3,840 resolution, 1000-nits brightness, 96% DCI-P3 color gamut, and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate.

Moohan will also have a 4% better color accuracy than the Vison Pro. Moreover, it is going to use the OLED on Silicon (OLEDoS) tech, which is pretty next-gen too, as it applies micro-OLED elements directly to a silicon base. This will make for better overall quality, especially with brighter and more accurate colors. Samsung plans to ship 100,000 Moohan headsets to start, with cheaper models on the way down the line, potentially featuring 2.1-inch screens with a 1,700 ppi pixel density.

When will it be available?

This is where things get a little vague. According to reports, Sony is starting to mass-produce OLEDOs panels ( I mentioned above), which will then ship to Samsung. So, there is a lot of work to be done, which means we won’t get to see Project Moohan anytime soon. There were earlier rumors that Samsung wanted to launch the headset in 2023, but those plans apparently got delayed once they saw how the Vision Pro performed. We’ll probably have to wait until the next Galaxy Unpacked event this summer for Samsung to drop more details. But one thing’s for sure that this XR headset is going to be a serious contender for Apple’s Vision Pro. Can’t wait to see how it all unfolds!

Honor Magic V4 could be the thinnest foldable phone with 200MP zoom lens

Honor has made quite a name for itself in the foldable market with its V series. After the success of the Magic V1, V2, and V3, the company is gearing up for the release of the Magic V4. Let’s dive into what we know about the upcoming device.

Honor Magic V4 Rumor Overview

Honor’s Magic V3 held the title of the thinnest book-style foldable phone previously, but Oppo recently took that crown with the Find N5 last month. However, Honor is expected to take that title back with the Magic V4, which is rumored to launch this June. Though this leak doesn’t specifically mention the name, everything suggests it is the Magic V4.

Honor Magic V4 Rumored Specs

Design and Display

The Magic V4 is expected to be super sleek, under 9mm thin when folded, matching or even surpassing the Find N5’s slimness. The inner display will be an 8-inch LTPO screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2K resolution for smooth visuals. The cover screen will also be of the same panel and refresh rate and measure 6.45 inches. For durability, the device will have an IPX8 waterproof rating, and for added security, it will sport a side-mounted fingerprint sensor instead of an in-display one.

Performance and Battery

Rumor has it that the Magic V4 will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite chipset (full-core version) instead of the seven-core version used in the Oppo Find N5. In terms of battery, Honor is expected to push the Magic V4’s capacity to 6,000 mAh, which could set a new benchmark for foldable phones. Foldable devices often struggle in the battery department compared to regular smartphones. So we hope Honor shows its charm and changes its record.

Camera and Features

For photography, the Magic V4 will come with a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.5’’ sensor. The standout upgrade is a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 1/1.4’’ sensor, which is definitely a big leap from the 50MP zoom lens on the Magic V3. There’s likely another sensor in the mix, but we are not sure about the details. Other rumored features include wireless charging and satellite communication support.

Honor Magic V4 Expected Specifications

  • Design: Sleek, foldable, and slim
  • Display:
    • 8-inch LTPO inner display, 120Hz, 2K resolution
    • 6.45-inch LTPO cover display, 120Hz
  • Protection: IPX8 waterproof rating
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite (full-core version)
  • Battery: 6,000mAh
  • Camera:
