Design

As for the design, the OnePlus Buds Pro takes most of its inspiration from the AirPods Pro. The buds come with a matte (for black) or glossy (for white) finish, depending on the color you choose, and a metallic covering on the stem. Further, these wireless earphones weigh 4.35 g each. Also, the case adds around 52 g of bulk you need to carry around.

Moreover, the buds get a dust and water protection rating of IP55. The case can even sustain some water and sweat, thanks to the IPX4 rating provided.

Sound

Audio is an important part of any earphone. And this is a Pro version of the OnePlus Buds we’re talking about. So, LHDC codec support for high-quality streaming is not a surprise here. What is surprising is the 11-mm driver they have gone with, considering the price range. However, the Zen Mode Air is something to contemplate, as it lets you play white noise, a handy feature when you want to focus on something.

One more thing to talk about is the Audio ID. This feature helps you personalize your hearing profile to match your taste.

Noise-Canceling

Obviously, the Buds Pro provides you with both Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency modes. The thing that OnePlus does differently here is the modes they provide. Three further sub-modes for ANC are provided—Faint, Smart, and Extreme which lets you pick how much the noise should be equalized.

The Faint mode neutralizes the least noise (up to 15 dB) while the Extreme does it for maximum noise (40 dB) that can be canceled by the earbuds. The “Smart” mode sits in between, automatically adjusting itself as the noise level changes.

Battery & Charging options

Moving on to the battery life, the Buds Pro by OnePlus lasts 7 hours of continuous playback with a 40 mAh battery. And the charging case adds 31 hours extra for the combined time of 38 hours. However, if the ANC is enabled, the 3-mics are also enabled with processes going around, which makes the buds lose the playtime by 2 hours. And the combined playback with the case goes down to 28 hours.

Likewise, the case presents you with the option to charge wirelessly along with the USB-C port at the back. The warp charging support is provided, from which you can charge for 10 hours of combined playback just in 10 minutes.
