Samsung announced the latest Tab S8 series with the flagship specifications back in February. The company is now planning to add a more affordable tablet to the lineup. In this article, we will be discussing every leak and rumor surrounding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE Rumors Roundup:
Geekbench Listing
Although Samsung looks to have shelved plans for S22 FE, the Tab S8 FE is still in the pipeline. The tablet was first spotted on the Geekbench listing last month with the model number SM-X506B. According to the listing, Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE will be powered by MediaTek’s Kompanio 900T SoC. The chip was launched towards the end of 2021 and is specifically designed for tablets and Chromebooks.
Coming to the nitty-gritty of Kompanio 900T, it is based on a 6nm process and brings 2x Cortex-A78 performance cores and 6x Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. This is paired with Mali-G68 GPU, which handles all the graphical processing. All in all, the chip is quite similar to the Dimensity 900 that we see in smartphones.

The base variant of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE will ship with 4GB of RAM. Samsung will offer the tablet in both Wi-Fi-only (SM-X500) and Wi-Fi + 5G variants (SM-X506B). It will be among the first tablet to ship with One UI 5 based on the new Android 13.
Like its predecessor, Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE will still come with an LCD panel. It will also retain the Wacom digitizer, confirming the native stylus support.
The rest of the details are scarce, but we can always look at the Tab S7 FE with reference. It featured a standard 60Hz LCD screen, so Samsung could still improve on the refresh rate. That aside, the tablet packed a 10,900mAh battery with 45W fast charging and was available with up to 8GB of RAM.
