But are a bigger battery and better durability enough when rivals offer more in other areas?

Tecno has added a new member to its Tecno Spark 50 series by unveiling the Tecno Spark 50 Pro. While this phone brings major upgrades to the battery and protection rating, there are a lot of catches with the Spark 50 Pro in areas like resolution, camera, performance, and even the sensors. In this article, I will discuss this mid-range phone from Tecno in detail, including the expected Tecno Spark 50 Pro price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.
Key Highlights
- Tecno Spark 50 Pro comes with a larger 6000mAh battery and supports 60W fast charging.
- The phone features an IP68/IP69 rating, offering significantly better dust and water resistance than its predecessor.
- It sports a 6.78-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
- The Spark 50 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate chipset and runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16.
Tecno Spark 50 Pro Overview
Battery and Camera
Starting off, the only major improvement that Tecno brings is the upgrade to a 6000mAh battery in the Spark 50 Pro, up from the 5200mAh battery we saw in the Spark 40 Pro. Here, it also has a 5600mAh battery option available in the dual-cell version. The specific battery option that arrives depends on the region you are buying a phone in, so you need to wait for Tecno's official confirmation on which region gets which battery option.

Besides capacity, Tecno is providing you with 60W wired charging that will take around half an hour to reach 63% battery, and within 55 minutes your phone will be fully charged. It also includes a bypass to extend battery life over long periods of use.

For optics, the Tecno Spark 50 Pro keeps things simple, featuring a single 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. This is similar to the sensor used in its predecessor, although the lens now features an f/1.8 aperture instead of f/1.6—which could slightly affect low-light performance. For the front, it opts for the 8MP f/2.0 shooter over the 13MP f/2.2 front-facing camera for video calls and selfies. So with these cameras, you can expect decent daytime shots, while low-light night shots might not offer much detail.
Design and Display
In terms of design, the Tecno Spark 50 Pro opts for a slightly larger form factor with a plastic unibody and a thickness of 7.8mm. Beyond that, it also moves towards the rectangular camera island we saw on recent phones like the iPhone 17 Pro Max, Honor 600, Honor 600 Pro, Infinix Smart 20, and more, rather than the clean-looking vertical setup we saw on the Spark 40 Pro.

Another highlight of this phone is its IP68/IP69 rating for dust and water, compared to the IP64 rating of its predecessor. And you can choose between “Ink Black”, “Titanium Grey”, “Midnight Blue”, “Dynamic Orange”, and “Cloud White” finishes.
Up front, the Spark 50 Pro has a 6.78-inch IPS LCD panel with HD+ resolution, which is quite outdated for a mid-range phone at this point. Especially given phones like the Infinix Note Edge, Infinix Note 60, and Realme P3 offer better FHD+ panels for sharper and crisper text and visuals on the screen. The normal day-to-day scrolling on this phone should also feel smooth thanks to its 120Hz refresh rate.

Performance and Software
Under the hood, Tecno uses the same old MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate chip built on a 6nm processor that we saw last year in the Spark 40 Pro. So, this phone should also deliver similar performance. With this chip, you should be able to perform all the day-to-day work without much issue, but at this price bracket you get other options like Realme P3 and Infinix Note 60 with better performance.
Memory-wise, this phone comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which you can expand with a microSDXC card if you run out of storage over time. On the software front, Spark 50 Pro runs on HiOS 16 on top of Android 16, which comes with the various Tecno AI ecosystem. For connectivity, Tecno offers Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 5, and NFC.

Tecno Spark 50 Pro Price in Nepal and Availability
