After the launch of the Vivo V21 and V21e, Vivo has introduced yet another mid-range phone in Nepal. Dubbed the Vivo Y53s, it’s like any other Y-series smartphone from the company, which means it’s quite overpriced for what it offers. Anyway, let us take a deeper look at the specifications and features of the Vivo Y53s 5G, along with its official price in Nepal.

Vivo Y53s Overview:

Performance and Memory

Under the hood, Vivo Y53s packs in MediaTek Helio G80 chipset with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of expandable internal storage. The Helio G80 is an entry-level chipset found on sub 20K smartphone from Poco and recently launched Galaxy F22 whose price starts at NPR 20,499.

So yeah, calling this phone overpriced would be an understatement. Regardless, Y53s also enjoys Vivo’s Extended RAM feature swaps 3GB of internal storage as temporary RAM, when the system requires it.

Camera

At the back, the rectangular camera module houses triple cameras. Y53s is yet another Vivo Y-series midrange phone where the ultrawide camera has been sacrificed. Here, the primary camera consists of a 64MP sensor.

It has Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) as well. Joining this is a 2MP macro and a 2MP monochrome lens. There is a 16MP selfie camera up front inside the teardrop notch.

Rest of the specs

Fueling the Vivo Y53s is a massive 5000mAh battery. It supports 33W fast charging via the USB Type-C port. Vivo is also making big claims about the audio setup of the phone.

Vivo Y53s Price in Nepal & Availability

Vivo Nepal has set the price of Y53s at NPR 34,999 for the sole 8/128GB variant. With an LCD display, subpar Helio G80 chipset, and a lacking ultra-wide camera, it is easily one of the most overpriced midrange phones of 2021. Vivo should have at least offered an AMOLED screen and a better chipset here to justify its price tag.
