These phones claim to deliver true-to-life colors and sharper detail in every photo with XMAGE imaging.

Huawei has expanded its Pura 90 series in China, alongside the Huawei Pura Pro Max and Pura X Max. These new phones are the direct successors to the Pura 80 series we saw last year. We can see visible upgrades on this new smartphone, with Huawei opting for its in-house Kirin SoC and HarmonyOS 6.1 combo. These phones also have a decent upgrade to the camera module, which might be the major selling point. Here, I will discuss the expected price of the Huawei Pura 90 and Pura 90 Pro in Nepal, along with their specifications and availability.
Huawei Pura 90 and Pura 90 Pro Overview
Design and Display
Starting with the design, the Huawei Pura 90 and Pura 90 Pro also use the premium metal-and-glass combo we saw on premium flagship phones like the iPhone 17 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
The gradient natural color variant on Pura 90 Pro, such as “Pink Guva”, “Orange Soda”, Coconut WHite", and “Mulberry Black”, sounds pretty cool and aesthetic. Pura 90 arrives with solid colors such as “Black”, "White", and “Dark Purple”. And the cherry on top: both phones have an IP68/IP69 rating that should handle light rain well.
Talking about the display, Pura 90 has a large 6.8-inch display while Pura 90 Pro has a slightly smaller 6.6-inch display. Given that, both phones have LTPO OLED panels with HDR Vivid support for a better visual experience.
Scrolling and high-end gaming should be fine with them, thanks to its 120Hz refresh rate. For the flagship phone, the FHD+ display sounds quite disappointing, as other phones like the OnePlus 13 and Oppo Find X8 Pro offer QHD+ displays.
Plus, a trinocular camera island with a circular sensor module, a Red Maple sensor, and an LED flash looks pretty cool in Pura 90, while Pura 90 Pro has a clearer sensor setup in a similar triangular island.
Performance and Software
Beginning with the performance, Huawei Pura 90 opts for the Kirin 9010s processor, while Pura 90 Pro opts for the 9030s, which debuted in these; these are Huawei's in-house processors. The similar chip that Pura 90 has was also seen in the Nova 15 Pro last year.
Here, Huawei has also claimed that the NPU can process images 200% faster with this chip and the XMAGE imaging system for the 9030s chip. These phones also feature Red Maple multispectral sensor operation to process shadows and color reproduction more precisely, giving images that are much closer to real life.
This means they should be good enough to play high-paced, AAA games on these phones, with better stability and visual experience.

Memory-wise, these phones offer 12/16GB of RAM, and storage goes up to 512GB, while Pura 90 Pro also comes with a 1TB storage option. Here, Huawei's in-house chip is paired with HarmonyOS 6.1. From this combination, we can expect really good power management and user experience. Although I don't see any mention of possible upgrades, you can still expect up to 3 major OS updates and 4 years of security patches, which is quite a good aspect for long-term use.

Camera and Battery
As for Optic, the 50MP primary sensor keeps the better F/1.4-4.0 aperture, while we see decent upgrades and a downgrade in the telephoto and ultrawide sensors, respectively.
Here, Pura 90 Pro paired its primary sensor with an upgraded 50MP periscope telephoto lens, while the 40MP ultrawide sensor is replaced by a 12.5MP sensor. Similarly, the optics remain the same in Pura 90, but it has a normal telephoto lens.
Upfront, these phones feature the 13MP selfie and video call sensor we saw in the predecessor, too. Both camera modules can capture stable, smooth 4K video with gyro-EIS. The back camera further comes with OIS, which is very useful for low-light photography and videography.
For them, the most interesting feature I learned about is the new AI Pose Recommendation. It sounds cool enough to drag most of the user's attention. If you are wondering how it will work, let me explain. Basically, the camera module is designed to detect the real-time background and suggest the appropriate pose that fits the surroundings.
As for the battery, the Huawei Pura packs a 6500mAh battery while the Pura 90 Pro uses a 6,000mAh Li-Po battery, which should be decent enough for casual use for a day.
Given the difference in the battery capacity, Pura 90 has 100W wired charging, while Pura 90 Pro has 66W wired fast charging support. Plus, both of them are paired with 55W wireless fast charging for a quick top-up.
